Do not sacrifice minutes of sleep in favor of work or study. Especially if you need to learn a large amount of information.

The fact is that sleep plays a special role in the learning process. Scientists at Harvard University (USA) conducted an experiment in which participants from 18 to 39 years old were asked to learn a list of 20 pairs of words. Then half of the subjects had the opportunity to take a nap, the other was awake. When it came time to test, it turned out that the sleepyheads remembered an average of 76% of the words, while the awake participants in the experiment — only 32%.

“Sleep doesn’t just guard our memory,” says neuroscientist Jeffrey Ellenbogen, study leader, “it plays an active role in strengthening it.” Remember to include sleep in your work schedule.
