The dream of any child is walls on which not only can but also draw! How do you turn any surface into a slate board?
Everything is not simple, but very simple. To the delight of parents, there are special matte paints that create a slate coating on almost any surface. Most often they are black and green and can be easily applied to wood, metal, plaster, glass, cardboard and plastic. Only 2-3 coats of paint – and on the wall (or, for example, a cabinet door) you can draw and write as much as you like. The paints are resistant to chalk scratches, and lettering and drawings can be easily wiped off with a damp cloth.
Arrange such a board in the nursery. It is better if you paint the wall itself in a bright color – yellow, orange, blue. You can make a beautiful ornamental frame around a makeshift board using a stencil. We frame the board itself with masking tape and start painting.

“This year, my friend and I just made such a board for her son, in the kitchen, and glued a tape for magnets on top, the child drags along, the husband too (the artist), however, now the mother has a problem, who is sorry to erase the children’s drawings.”
You will need:
Detergent
Household sponge
Primer
Blackboard paint
Brush, roller or spray
Masking tape
Instructions:
1. Clean the surface from dust and dirt. If you paint over a matte emulsion, you don’t have to pre-prepare the surface. If you intend to paint over vinyl paint, or on wood, metal, plaster, glass, cardboard or plastic, you will need to prime the surface first.
2. Before use, the paint should be thoroughly mixed until smooth, lifting a viscous layer from the day. You will also need to stir the paint from time to time while painting.
3. Apply 2-3 coats by brush, roller or spray. Let the paint dry completely (this will take about 4 hours) before applying the next coat.
4. The board is ready to use in 24 hours.
If the surface is not smooth, it will first have to be sanded, the dust removed and only then a layer of primer should be applied.
By the way, adults will also find use for such a slate board. By painting any wall with chalk paint and practicing drawing, you can change the mood of the room even every day. In the kitchen or in the hall such a board will become a living intra-family newspaper – on which it is convenient to write daily reminders, congratulations, menus, praises or notes.
You should not be limited to walls, you can turn any surface into a board for family creativity – from the refrigerator door and sideboard, to the countertop and the toilet door from the inside (well, you will figure out how to combine the useful with the pleasant). Blackboard paint will allow give new life old globe, mirrors and photo frames. All you have to do is turn on your imagination, and it’s best to do this before your child turns it on, with a pencil or marker in hand.
