Hat (diameter 6-28 cm): usually white, slightly pubescent, fleshy, dense. Over time, it changes from convex to almost flat, and then funnel-shaped. The edges of young mushrooms are bent, while adults are wavy.
Leg (height 4-10 cm): white, strong and dense.
Records: narrow and sparse, do not differ in color from the stem and cap.
Pulp: dense and white, with acrid and whitish milky juice, very fragile. Due to the milky juice, it tastes very spicy, has a pleasant smell.
Doubles: pepper mushroom (Lactarius piperatus), but the violin has rarer plates.
When growing: from mid-July to the end of September in the countries of the Eurasian continent with a temperate climate.
Where can I find: the fiddler is found in coniferous and deciduous forests, most often on a moss litter and in the neighborhood of birches.
Eating: an excellent and suitable mushroom for salting, subject to preliminary soaking for several days and changing the water.
Application in traditional medicine: does not apply.
