Skinsept Pur – composition, purpose, dosage, contraindications

Skinsept Pur is a disinfecting and degreasing preparation in the form of a liquid, which is most often used before surgeries, punctures, injections, vaccinations or blood sampling. It is a combined product that contains active substances with proven clinical effectiveness. The product is available without a prescription, and ECOLAB GMBH is responsible for its production. Skinsept Pur is available in three packages: a 350 milliliter bottle with an atomizer, a 1 liter bottle and a 5 liter canister.

Skinsept Pur – composition

100 g of solution consists of: 46 g of ethanol (96% denatured), 27 g of isopropyl alcohol, 1 g of benzyl alcohol, as well as hydrogen peroxide and purified water.

Skinsept Pur – destiny

Skinsept Pur is intended for disinfecting and degreasing the skin before operations, injections, punctures, blood sampling and vaccinations. The product is highly effective against skin bacteria (including tuberculosis and MRSA), fungi and viruses (HIV, Hepatitis B, Herpes, Adeno, Rota).

Skinsept Pur – dosage

Decontamination of the skin before injections, blood collection, vaccinations and acupuncture – the area of ​​the skin where we will perform the injections should be sprayed with Skinsept Pur before injection, and then wait about 15 seconds. If we want to extend the scope of action of the preparation with viruses, we have to extend the waiting time to 1 minute. If there is a threat of HBV, the waiting time should be extended to even 2 minutes, then after that, we should spray the skin with the preparation again.

Skin disinfection before punctures and operations – apply undiluted Skinsept Pur solution to the skin using a sterile tampon. With its help, spread the solution over the surface of the skin and wait 1 minute for the skin to dry. If there is a risk of HBV, the time of skin disinfection should be extended to 2 minutes. After this time, we should repeat the activity anew.

Skinsept Pur – contraindications

The Skinsept Pur solution cannot be used if we are allergic or hypersensitive to any of the ingredients of the preparation. We must remember that the solution cannot in any way be used to disinfect open wounds with a large area and to disinfect mucous membranes. The preparation should not be used around the eyes and in newborns. There are no known side effects of the solution.

Skinsept Pur – precautions

Please note that the product is highly flammable, therefore under no circumstances should we spray it near flames. Observe the preparation application times and all safety rules. The preparation should be protected against high temperature and flames, therefore all electrical devices should be turned on after the preparation has dried. Skinsept Pur should be stored at a temperature below 25 ° C, out of the reach of children. We cannot use it after the expiry date as its disinfecting effect may be much smaller.
