Valladolid, cradle of the pincho and headquarters of the national championship of Tapas and Pinchos, celebrates during these days two gastronomic competitions and very combined.

A good way to bring together all hospitality professionals in a single moment is to join the main culinary and barista events that take place in the province.

This is the case this year, as in previous editions of the Valladolid Provincial Pinchos Contest, which has already shared a bar with mixes and cocktails in the last three editions.

The XVIII Provincial Pinchos Contest joins again the IV Cocktails and Combined Contest, being active from today, May 31, until June 6.

A total of 62 participants, 58 of them from the Valladolid capital, and four from the province will face off to win a place in the grand final on June 6 at the “Fernández Pérez” International Cooking School. In the field of “glasses” there will be more than twenty baristas who will enter the contest.

The rest of the awards, which are awarded by the brands and firms collaborating with the event, are the “Pincho Coca Cola”, the “Pincho Mahou”, the award for the “Gluten Free Pincho”, the best “Combined Pincho”, the award for the “Pincho Dessert”

There are surprises for all the participants in the voting, and the mixed society for the Promotion of Tourism of Valladolid will raffle among all those who contribute their vote a gastronomic getaway for two people that includes a guided tour, with the esteemed travel companion, the card “Valladolid Card”.

The jury that will assess the culinary elaborations will be made up of professionals from the world of restoration such as Jesús Sánchez chef and owner of the restaurant el Amós gazebo from Cantabria, Nacho Cobo, owner of the restaurant La Casuca from Cantabria, José Ramón Elizondo, owner of the restaurant Aloña Berri from San Sebastian,

At the Barista level, the Cocktail and Combined Contest will be divided into categories with 17 proposals for the creativity of cocktails and another 11 for that of mixed drinks.

The prizes of these categories will be grouped in the awards of “Cocktail or Combined of Gold” for the first classified and “Cocktail or Combined Valladolid” for the second classified.

To deliberate and assess the best mixes, the jury will be attended by Borja Cortina from the Varsovia Coctelería de Gijón, winner of the award for the best cocktail maker in Spain in 2015.

The objective of both competitions is to promote tourism and the gastronomy of the province and below we will expand the information on the participants of the gastronomic contest on the one hand and the barista championship on the other.
