Simple ways to help yourself and relieve pain in extreme weather, doctor’s advice

A sharp change in weather, which this autumn is especially generous with, has a significant effect on our body, especially on the blood vessels. What to do in such a situation? For advice, we turned to Evgeny Averin, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Cardiologist, Vice-President of the New Directions of Pharmacotherapy Association.

1. Drink plenty of fluids – about 1,5 liters per day if there is no heart failure. On days with sudden changes in atmospheric pressure (that is, during a change in weather), you need to reduce the amount of fluid you drink by 200-300 ml – due to the tendency of fluid to linger in the body and an increase in blood pressure on these days.

2. Support yourself daily physical activity (in moderation, do not overdo it) at least 20-30 minutes a day. For example, just walk.

3. Try to avoid heavy lifting on days of changing weather., static loads, excessive overvoltage due to the risk of an increase in blood pressure.

4. Do not drink strong coffee and tea these days… Give preference to freshly squeezed juices. If you like tea, you can brew soothing herbs – mint or lemon balm.

5. Sleep at least 7-8 hours a day. Otherwise, the body’s resistance weakens, the protective functions decrease.

6. Temper… A contrast shower is welcomed throughout the autumn-winter-spring period.

7. Take vitamins with micronutrients, especially potassium, magnesium and vitamin B6… It is a complex to protect the heart during times of stress. Potassium and magnesium are found in bananas. But the daily requirement of these trace elements is such that you need to eat 4-6 bananas a day. But now there are also special preparations containing only magnesium and potassium or the whole triad – magnesium, potassium and B6.

8. Strictly follow the recommendations of the attending physician for the drug therapy of your diseases. Do not change anything on your own. If something goes wrong, be sure to check with your doctor.
