The pharmaceutical company USP Zdrowie is responsible for the distribution of Silica. The company was founded in 1992 in the United States on the initiative of Voitek Napiórkowski and has become a leader on the Polish market of over-the-counter drugs. The USP Zdrowie brand and the manufacturer of the Silica supplement is Naturell, a Swedish company that was founded in 1934. The creator of the brand, Sam Almborg, transferred the tablet manufacturing technology to the Swedish market, using the same processes and standards for the production of drugs and vitamin preparations. The idea behind the creator of the brand is to produce preparations and supplements, the main ingredients of which are natural substances, herbs and medicinal plants.

Silica – composition and action
One of the most important advantages of the Silica supplement is its rich composition. Ingredients that help to regenerate and strengthen hair, skin and nails are:
- vitamin – niacin, pantothenic acid, riboflavin, biotin;
- minerals – zinc, silicon, iron, selenium;
- amino acids – l-lysine, DL-methionine, p-aminobenzoic acid;
- Herbs – horsetail extract, algae extract.
The fillers in Silica are calcium phosphates (dicalcium phosphate), Korean white ginseng root extract, smooth licorice extract, bulking agent: microcrystalline cellulose, niacin (nicotinamide), glazing agents: fatty acids (stearic acid), dioxide silicon, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, pantothenic acid (calcium D-pantothenate), glazing agent: magnesium salts of fatty acids (magnesium stearate), vitamin B6 (pyridoxine hydrochloride), thiamine (thiamine mononitrate), riboflavin, color: ammonia caramel, polyglycolate .

Properties of the ingredients of the Silica supplement
The wealth of ingredients that make up the Silica supplement is one of the advantages of this preparation. The individual ingredients have regenerating and strengthening properties for the skin, hair and nails:
- niacin – contributes to the maintenance of proper energy metabolism and helps in the proper functioning of the nervous system and psychological functions. This compound contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, which has a very good effect on the condition of the skin;
- pantothenic acid – known as vitamin B5, it has a positive effect on the condition of the hair. The action of this substance is to stimulate the production of keratin and accelerate the production of new cells. Pantothenic acid regulates the metabolism of fatty acids, which reduces the risk of damaging the hair shaft. This compound participates in the process of hair pigmentation;
- riboflavin – known as vitamin B2, it helps in the proper functioning of the nervous system and in maintaining the proper condition of red blood cells;
- biotin – helps to maintain healthy hair and skin, helps in the proper functioning of the nervous system, stimulates the possibilities of mental work, recommended during periods of prolonged fatigue and during convalescence after nervous breakdowns;
- cynk – helps to maintain a proper acid-base balance, contributes to the maintenance of proper carbohydrate metabolism and the maintenance of proper cognitive functions; helps in maintaining healthy bones, hair and nails, as well as in maintaining the proper level of testosterone in the blood;
- silicon – it is an element that plays an important role in maintaining the proper properties of connective tissue. It is part of collagen, which is an important component of connective tissue. Silicon contributes to the improvement of bone tissue strength, slows down the premature aging process, improves the condition of the hair, reduces nail brittleness, reduces skin inflammation, reduces hair loss, and accelerates their growth;
- iron – this element improves the hair’s ability to regenerate. If your body is deficient in iron for too long, your hair will become thin and brittle, and your hair will start to thin;
- selenium – is an element whose action improves the condition of nails and hair. Selenium supports the work of the thyroid gland and the immune system. Selenium supplementation is extremely important because it is present in the human body in negligible amounts. Selenium protects us against the effects of stress, increases immunity and strengthens nails and hair;
- l-lizyna – is an organic chemical compound from the group of protein amino acids that the human body is unable to produce itself. L-lysine has a positive effect on calcium absorption and accelerates muscle regeneration. It has a protective role for the cardiovascular system. Takes part in the formation of antibodies, in the synthesis of collagen and elastin. It has a positive effect on the condition of the hair and wound healing.
- DL-methionine – belongs to the group of exogenous amino acids, i.e. essential for humans, which contains, among others, sulfur. DL-methionine supports the natural regeneration processes of connective tissue, skin, hair and nails, but also alleviates the symptoms of acne;
- p-aminobenzoic acid – it’s vitamin B10. This compound is one of the components of folic acid and plays an important role in the body. Not only does it delay the aging processes, such as the appearance of gray hair or wrinkles, but also prevents inflammation and contributes to the production of red blood cells. The action of vitamin B10 allows you to keep your skin and hair in good condition;
- horsetail extract – this plant contains many bioactive compounds, including organic acids, minerals, saponins, plant sterols and polyphenols. Its important component is silicon. Field horsetail strengthens and regenerates the hair;
- algae extract – algae contain many carbohydrates, including acid polysaccharides of high cosmetic and therapeutic importance. Silica – indications for use
Silica is an over-the-counter dietary supplement. It is used to supplement your diet with minerals, vitamins or amino acids that are essential for the strengthening and regeneration of hair and nails. An indication for the use of the preparation is also to keep the skin in good condition.
The Silica supplement is especially recommended for those who have noticed that:
- hair lacks elasticity and falls out excessively;
- the skin is dry, rough and devoid of elasticity,
- the nails are soft, brittle and split.
Silica is a supplement that has a positive effect on the strengthening and regeneration of hair, skin and nails in people diagnosed with hypothyroidism or other hormonal disorders.

Silica – contraindications
Despite the natural composition of the Silica supplement and its effectiveness, not every person who has problems with the condition of their hair, skin or nails can use it. A contraindication to the use of Silica is hypersensitivity to any of the active substances or auxiliary components of the supplement.

- do not exceed the recommended daily dose of the supplement;
- to maintain proper health, one should follow a varied diet and lead a healthy lifestyle;
- a dietary supplement cannot be used as a substitute (replacement) for a varied diet;
- the preparation should be stored at room temperature;
- the preparation should be protected from light and moisture;
- dietary supplements should be stored out of reach of small children.
It should be remembered that the Silica supplement should not be combined with alcohol consumption. Drinking alcohol while taking beta-carotene increases the risk of fatty liver disease. There may also be abdominal pain, nausea, and gas.
