Silence of the lambs: summer residents will be fined for keeping livestock in plots

For Russians, a lot is prohibited in their summer cottages: opening a car service or a hostel, and more recently, also breeding large and small livestock.

On the introduction of a ban on keeping pets, the First Cassation Court of General Jurisdiction pushed the lawsuit of a resident of Belgorod against her neighbors, who were breeding chickens and rabbits at their summer cottage. It turned out that according to federal law, keeping livestock in SNT and in summer cottages is illegal, and the court confirmed this once again.

Article 42 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation enshrines the right of everyone to a healthy environment. The conditions and procedure for land use are determined on the basis of federal law, ”the cassation court emphasized in an interview with RG.RU.

According to the Land Code, owners of land plots are obliged to use their possessions in accordance with their intended purpose and comply with sanitary and hygienic, fire safety and other rules. And in addition to large and small livestock, land legislation also prohibits keeping bees in your summer cottage.

After a high-profile case, the law began to apply to absolutely all land plots in Russia. Law enforcement officials noted that breeding animals for their own needs in summer cottages is possible if the neighbors give their formal consent… Otherwise, summer residents containing livestock will have to pay a fine of 10 thousand rubles.

In addition to livestock, summer residents can also get fines for using wells at summer cottages. The previously existing water amnesty was replaced by law. In addition, farmers have been warned of fines and even criminal liability for cultivating parsley seeds in their garden plots.
