Yes, that happens too. Maybe it’s time for you to put aside the rag and indulge in legitimate idleness?
Evidence of infrequent cleaning is visible to the naked eye, but there is also a downside. The obsession with cleanliness, like the perpetual mess in the house, is also abnormal. And if any of these points are close to you, then shouldn’t you slightly suspend the desire to remove everything and everyone.
Dust has no time to accumulate
Of course, we are not talking about such a layer on which you can paint pictures. But pay attention: you take up a rag when you see one or two specks of dust in the air, or there is already something to wipe on the surfaces. If the first option is closer, then we dare to upset: it will not be possible to completely get rid of the dust in the house.
Cleaning supplies run out quickly
On average, one bottle of household chemicals should be enough for a couple of months, but with excessive abuse, the bottle will be empty after a week. How often do the names of cleaning products appear on your shopping list? If once every couple of weeks, then it is worth considering whether you are using them too actively.
It always smells like chemistry
A logical consequence of the previous point. Some believe that this is the smell of cleanliness. However, he can play a cruel joke. If the concentration of chemicals in the air is too high, it may well get a headache, or even an allergy attack, or something worse.
Cleaning up again leads to conflicts
You just decided to vacuum again, and your husband burst into loud grunts in the style of “as much as possible.” Word for word, and now you are already quarreling and offended until the evening. You vacuumed, of course, everything inside and out, but was it really worth it? A normal man is used to seeing an ordinary woman next to him, not Mr. Muscle in a skirt. The obsession with cleanliness can be really unnerving. And if loved ones are already beginning to get annoyed about this, then you should think about it.
The bath becomes more and more difficult to clean
No one gets better from excessive wiping or scrubbing. From furniture, you run the risk of erasing all coatings, and on a bath or sink, enamel can be damaged in no time. And then it becomes more difficult to wash them – rust and plaque settle in scratches, changing the type of plumbing not for the better. Washing to the holes certainly costs nothing.
You scrub the kitchen every week
We do not mean the trivial washing of dishes and the floor, but “heavy artillery”: cleaning the oven, hood and disassembling kitchen cabinets. The only thing that really needs to be washed often in the kitchen is the refrigerator. It is advised to wipe the shelves inside once a week. But to clean the oven, provided that after each cooking you wipe it from the inside, you only need three times a year. Disassemble lockers – and even less often, twice a year.
You wash bedspreads and blankets every month
This is also not necessary. If you are not messy and you do not have a whole flock of pets in your home, it is enough to wash the blankets and bedspreads once a season. The same goes for furniture covers. It is worth vacuuming them once a week, but if there are no stains on the surface, then they should be washed no more than three to four times a year. And the curtains are even less often – only once a year, if you do not forget to regularly remove dust from them.
Vacuum cleaner is your best friend
Carpets and upholstered furniture should be dry-cleaned once a year. But if you’re hoping to avoid that by pulling out your vacuum cleaner every week, you’re doing yourself a disservice. Frequent use of detergents and moisture deteriorates carpets and furniture: shampoos attract dust, and moisture contributes to the appearance of mold.
