The Siemens washing machine informs the owner about breakdowns by displaying error codes on the scoreboard. If you know what this or that code means, then in half the cases you can fix the problem yourself without calling the wizard.
If you have lost the user manual, or it does not contain a decoding of the codes, or a book in English, our table will come in handy. We have collected in one place all the possible fault codes that the Siemens washing machine displays on its scoreboard.
Symbols: Short circuit – short circuit. TO – maintenance. Software – software.
To remove the error, you need to check how tightly the door is closed.
Try to arrange the laundry items in a different way, making sure that they do not interfere with the normal closing of the door.
F02 With code F02, no water is taken into the machine. If it gives error 02, check:
- Is the tap for supplying water from the water supply system to the SMA open.
- Make sure that there is water in the plumbing at all and that it has sufficient pressure.
- Is the water intake hose clogged?
- Is the filter mesh at the water inlet to the AGR clogged?
F03 Siemens CM shows error F03 if there is no normal water drain. The washing machine issues this code if the water has not left the tank in 10 minutes. How to fix the situation:
- Inspect the filter for blockage, make sure that there are no blockages in other elements of the drain system.
- Check that the pump (drainage pump) is working properly.
- Check if the pump impeller rotates freely. In both directions, it should rotate equally freely. Measure the resistance of the pump coil, if it is working, then the indicator should be equal to 200 ohms. If the pump is broken, it must be replaced.
- Make sure the electronic module is working.
F04 Code F04 indicates water leakage from the system. You need to find the source of the leak. Check to see if the connections have leaked. F05 Engine problems If the motor functions without a corresponding signal, an engine check is needed – repair or replacement, based on a failure. F06 Malfunction of the heating system (short circuit of the NTC sensor) Checking the temperature sensor and water heater F07 Problem with NTC sensor Diagnostics of the elements of the temperature sensor circuit, checking the temperature sensor, if everything is fine with the circuit F08 Sunroof not closed Check the tightness of the hatch. Check the locking mechanism. F10 The circuit between the electric motor and the electronic module is broken Check circuit contacts. The board may need to be repaired or replaced. F11 Engine malfunction (drum does not rotate) Perhaps the motor has overheated – you need to give it 10-15 minutes to cool down. If the problem persists, check the triac on the controller. F12 Engine problems (see code F11) Check the graphite brushes, the winding and the motor itself for damage. F13 Power supply problem Normalize network F14 Problem in the power supply (drum does not work), see code F12 Normalize the network if the voltage in it is below 172V F15 Problems with the water heating system Check the NTC sensor circuit, inspect the thermal sensor for operability F16 Sunroof not closed. The solution to the problem could be:
- If the mode does not start, restart the wash.
- Close the door tighter.
- Replace the UBL.
F17 With error F17, the water entry time has been exceeded. This can happen for three reasons:
- The water valve is closed.
- The filter mesh of the water inlet valve is clogged.
- The water pressure was less than 1 bar.
What to do:
- Open the valve if it is closed.
- After that, the cycle will stop. The water will drain within 5 minutes.
- It is possible to restart the program.
F18 If the machine shows F18 on the display, it means that the water has taken more time to drain than usual. That is:
- Drain pump broken or clogged.
- Level N1 not reached.
- Pressure sensor switch blocked.
- Broken electronics.
Proceed like this:
- Clean the drain pump (pump).
- If there is no drain for one and a half minutes, the cycle will be canceled and the machine will go into critical error mode.
- Call the master.
F19 Water takes too long to heat up. Reasons why F19 occurs:
- The water heating system has failed.
- Thermostop was not reached (heating did not stop at the right time).
- The network voltage level is not high enough.
- Scale on the heater, or the heating element is broken.
To fix the breakdown yourself, check the heating element and its connection circuits. Call him a tester.
If the heating element is broken, it needs to be replaced. In all cases, the program will end with cold water.
F20
Error F20 indicates a sudden heating of the water. You choose a program in low temperature mode, and the heating element still heats the water.
The reasons:
- Broken thermostat.
- The thermostat relay has failed.
It is required to check the specified units and replace defective parts. F21
F21 indicates a breakdown of the SM control system. Accompanied by uneven operation of the electric motor, or the motor does not rotate the drum at all.
This could mean:
- Short circuit triacs.
- Damage to the tachogenerator.
- Reverse relay failure.
The engine or electronic unit needs to be repaired. F22
F22 is a breakdown of the temperature sensor.
The wash will end without heating the water. It is worth ringing the sensor with a tester and in case of a breakdown, replace it with a new one. F23 At F23 Aquastop is activated. And this means that water has collected in the CM pan, or the connection circuits have broken (the contacts have burned out). How to fix:
- Check the integrity of the contacts, replace the damaged sections.
- Check the operation of Aquastop.
F25 Failure of the Aqua-Sensor – the so-called turbidity sensor. This happens for the following reasons:
- Scale has accumulated on the sensor.
- The pressure sensor is broken.
- The drain system is clogged.
With error F25, the wash will end without rinsing.
First you need to clean the drain system. If the sensors are broken, replace with new ones.
F26 Code F26 means a malfunction of the analog pressure sensor, a breakdown of the pressure switch.
The error is critical, therefore it is accompanied by the following behavior of the washer:
- The cycle stops.
- The pump pumps out the remaining water.
- The hatch is blocked.
- Buttons that control processes and indicators on the control panel are disabled.
To reset errors, do the following:
- Turn off SM.
- Check sensor.
- Perform wiring maintenance.
F27 F27 – pressure switch setting failure.
If the pressure switch works according to the old values due to the fact that it was not configured, it is necessary to check the sensor itself and its wiring.
Replace damaged wires or the sensor itself.
F28 Flow sensor failure. To remove the F28 code, check the sensor and the integrity of its wiring. F29
The flow sensor does not detect the flow of water, which is why F29 appears.
This may happen because:
- The water supply tap is closed.
- Pressure below 1 bar.
- Clogged filter installed on the water intake valve.
- Valve failure.
- Aquastop crash.
- The pressure sensor is broken.
Failure is accompanied by stopping the washing process, draining after 5 minutes, restarting the cycle.
To resolve the error, first try opening the water supply valve.
In more serious cases, check the components listed on the right and their wiring, replace with good parts, or have the wiring serviced.
F31 If the Siemens machine issues the F31 code, it means that the maximum allowable water level in the system has been exceeded. And this means that:
- Pump blocked.
- Clogged or kinked drain hose.
- The magnetic valve is broken.
- Pressure switch not set.
- The level sensor is broken.
- The drain system is clogged.
The water will drain more slowly, so the wash cycle will be delayed. To troubleshoot, check:
- Bay valve.
- Drainage pump.
- Pressure sensor.
- Drain the system when it is clogged.
- wire integrity.
F34 If Siemens CM issued the code Ф34, it means that the hatch lock does not close. Causes:
- Blocker failure.
- The fixing tongue is displaced.
- The door itself is stuck.
- The elasticity of the sealing gum is broken.
This is a critical error!
Accompanied by the cancellation of the wash cycle, blocking the hatch, blocking the control panel.
To fix the crash:
- Turn off the machine with the button on the panel.
- Check the serviceability of the UBL.
- Check the mechanical component.
- Perform wire maintenance.
F36 The locking system has broken. This may be due to the failure of the control module (the relay or triac broke).
F36 is a critical error! The machine does not respond to commands.
Reset the error by disabling CMA from the button. Check the control module for damage. Wiring maintenance required.
F37
F38
- The thermostat is broken.
- Short circuit of the sensor.
If the display shows F37 or F38, know that the wash will end in cold water. Check:
- Breakdown sensor.
- Wires for integrity.
F40 F40 means timing error. Try restarting the machine. F42 The electric motor has started to run at too high a speed. May indicate a malfunction of the electronic board or a breakdown of the triac.
F42 is an important mistake. The machine does not respond to user commands.
To reset the error, a test program and an electronic unit check are required.
F43
The motor does not turn.
In the simplest case, things got stuck in the space between the drum and the tank.
In more severe cases, there is a risk of such breakdowns:
- The tachogenerator is broken.
- Blocked motor or drum.
- The control unit is broken.
F43 is also a critical error! Accompanied by the fact that the machine does not respond to manipulations with the control panel.
Зrun a service test and check
- Is the drum overloaded?
- is the tachogenerator broken;
- whether the electronic unit is out of order;
- whether the integrity of the wires is broken.
F44 The drum only rotates in one direction. The fault may be a failure of the control unit, a breakdown of the relay or triac.
At F44, the machine is blocked. It is required to run a test program and check the electronic unit.
F57
- Problems with the control board.
- Engine failure.
- Diagnosis of the control board. Repair, firmware or replacement.
- Inspection, repair or replacement of the engine.
F59 3D sensor failure. With F59, the wiring may be broken, the drain module, the sensor itself may be broken, or a SoftWare error has occurred. The machine is running at low speed. Check:
- Wiring integrity.
- 3D sensor.
- The location of the magnet.
- Electronic module.
F60 The flow sensor is broken, or turbulence has appeared in the sensor nozzles or in itself. To remove F60, check:
- Sensor.
- Filter mesh on the water intake valve.
- Wiring.
F61 Faulty signals coming from the door. If code F61 occurs, then:
- The door is open or closed.
- The security lock has been activated.
This is a critical error code, accompanied by blocking the CMA control panel.
To reset the code:
- Restart your washer.
- Check the health of the blocker, mechanical part, electrical wiring.
F63 F63 indicates a functional protection problem. There is a software failure or processor failure.
Another critical error with blocking the CM control panel.
Reboot the machine, check the power unit.
F67
F67 means an error in the encoding of the card.
An important error with blocking the functions of the CMA.
- Reboot the machine.
- Recode the card.
- In case of unsuccessful encoding, the card must be reinstalled.
E02
Electric motor problem.
To fix error E02, you need to check:
- Engine resistance.
- Contact integrity.
- Module health.
E67
Fault in the coding of the control board.
Code E67 may mean a firmware failure. You need to contact a specialist to reprogram the unit.
In severe cases, the module will need to be replaced.
Now you know what each of the possible errors of Siemens washing machines means. The main thing is to recognize the malfunction in time in order to fix it yourself.
In difficult cases, when repair or reprogramming of the control board is required, we advise you not to save money and contact a specialist.
