Grape “Sidlis” – a seedless variety with a delicate taste of ripe strawberries

The grapes yield a good harvest, but, having a thin skin, are often exposed to an invasion of wasps, which can spoil its presentation. If the weather is too rainy, the berries may crack.

Having good winter hardiness, it does not require shelter for the winter in the northern regions. Thanks to good immunity, it is able not to become infected with fungal diseases from other plants

The berries are small, up to 2 g, yellow with a pinkish tinge. The pulp is juicy, melting, with a fruity aroma reminiscent of strawberry with a silky finish. The ripening period occurs no later than 110 days from the moment the buds open, harvesting begins in early August.

Sidlis grape varieties have many advantages that are highly valued by winegrowers:

  • excellent taste;
  • resistance to diseases and frosts up to 35 degrees;
  • lack of seeds;
  • high sugar content of berries;
  • good transportability;
  • very early maturation.

Good transportability allows you to store grapes fresh for a long time, while it does not lose its taste and presentation.

Features of planting and care

Saplings are planted in the fall a month before the start of frost or in early spring in a sunny place protected from the wind. A clayey, loose, weakly calcareous soil far from groundwater is well suited for grapes. For planting, a 1x1x1 meter pit is made, a drainage from broken bricks is laid on the bottom, then a layer of soil with fertilizers. The seedling is placed in the center of the pit, the roots are gently straightened, filled with water and covered with fertile soil. The top layer of soil is mulched with sawdust or dry leaves.

Before planting, grape seedlings must be kept in water for a day, then cut off, if there are leaves, and cut off weak roots

The grapes do not require special care, it is enough to adhere to the basic rules:

  • fungicide treatment;
  • fertilizing with fertilizers;
  • regular watering;
  • mulching.

This grape has high qualities and is suitable for growing in any region, has good adaptation to adverse conditions and is undemanding to care. Subject to the basic cultivation technology, it will yield a high and stable yield every year.
