What are the side effects of taking Xetanor? What to expect when using Xetanor? What side effects should I be aware of? Can the negative effect of the drug be noticed right away? The question is answered by the drug. Anna Mitschke.
What are the side effects of Xetanor?
Hello. Last year I was diagnosed with depression. Initially, I was only prescribed therapy, and it really helped me a lot. I was satisfied with both the therapist and the influence she had on me. Recently, however, my condition worsened and I was recommended to use it Xetanor for depression. Before I start using this drug, however, I would like to know what side effects of Xetanor may appear when using it? I am a bit afraid of this because I have read that Xetanor has side effects that may hinder normal functioning, which is not the easiest for me lately. I am also curious about the time after which the side effects of taking Xetanor appear. Whether side effects of Xetanor are noticeable right away? I have never used any medications for depression and Xetanor will be the first one I will receive treatment, hence my uncertainty. I wish Xetanor would help me with depression, but I am concerned about taking such strong medications for depression.
Your doctor will explain the side effects of Xetanor
A drug called Xetanor contains the active substance paroxetine. Paroxetine is a drug from the group of serotonin reuptake inhibitors. They are the most commonly used antidepressants. They selectively inhibit serotonin reuptake. They show little effect on other neurotransmitter systems. Indications for the use of these drugs include anxiety disorders – panic disorder, social phobia, compulsive disorder, depressive syndromes, bulimia, premenstrual syndrome, post-traumatic stress disorders.
The group of drugs such as serotonin reuptake inhibitors are safer and better tolerated than tricyclic antidepressants. Side effects that may occur while taking medications include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, headache, anxiety, insomnia, sexual disorders (mainly ejaculation and orgasm, less often libido). At the very beginning, they may be anxious, especially fluoxetine. Other side effects include akathisia, extrapyramidal syndromes and serotonin syndrome.
Drug interactions may occur with the use of additional medications. Paroxetine has the strongest anxiolytic-sedative effect. In the description of the drug Xetanor, containing the active substance paroxetine, we can read that it is contraindicated in the case of hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation, peanuts or soy. It cannot be used simultaneously with drugs from the group of MAO inhibitors, thioridazine or pimozide. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking the drug. Use the dose prescribed by your doctor. It is recommended that the drug be taken in the morning with food. The tablet should not be chewed.
I recommend that you read the package leaflet before use and if in doubt, please contact your doctor. If you experience any disturbing symptoms while taking the drug, you should also urgently contact your doctor.
