Classical Russian vodka of the “standard” segment in a traditional round bottle with a laconic design is the signature drink of the Distillery “Shuyskaya Vodka”. The label contains an old image of the plant and the date of its foundation, as a symbol of the immutability of the Russian traditions of making the drink.
About the manufacturer. The brand is owned by OJSC Shuiskaya Vodka. A small distillery founded in 1899 in the city of Shuya, Ivanovo region, became a joint-stock company in 2007 and became part of RosAlco. The assortment of the plant includes 5 types of vodka, 13 types of fruit and berry tinctures, and the Staraya Shuya balm.
RosAlco includes 4 distilleries and a logistics company. In their case, there are well-known brands of vodka – Stolnaya, Loaf, Bogorodskaya. In 2010, specialists estimated the company’s share in the Russian alcohol market at 12%. But in 2011, the activities of the holding came to the attention of the Russian federal service for the regulation of the alcohol market. RosAlco was accused of doing business incorrectly, about five hundred tons of unlicensed drinks were seized from the warehouses, stamps of front companies were found, and they were fined. But according to experts, the holding is still an interesting asset for participants in the Russian alcohol market. Although RosAlco is currently inactive in commercial activities, the company has strong brands and a developed network of production facilities.
Tasting notes
Shuya classic vodka (40%) – despite the presence of dried figs in the infusion, it is an absolutely colorless, transparent drink with a light fig aroma. The mild taste is provided by refined alcohol of the “lux” class and three times filtered artesian water from the well, which is located on the territory of the Distillery “Shuyskaya vodka”. Like most drinks in the standard segment, before drinking, vodka must be cooled down to + 5-7 ° С. “Shuiskaya” is served with all dishes of Russian cuisine, with vegetable snacks, pickles, game, meat cooked on the grill or barbecue.
The appearance of figs in the traditional vodka recipe is not commented on by the producers. But it can be assumed that, in addition to a light fig aroma, the creators of the drink wanted to make it useful: dried fig fruits are extremely rich in B vitamins, have a beneficial effect on intestinal motility, help cleanse blood vessels and blood, and increase hemoglobin. And yet – reduce the number of leukocytes and have antiseptic properties.
