There is a lot of controversy about the compatibility of sparkling wines with seafood. For some, this is a great snack, others consider it bad manners. I suggest trying champagne with shrimp cooked according to a special recipe. Like it – include this dish in your home menu, no – forget about it forever.
The most important thing is to choose sparkling wine for shrimp, only brut and dry types of champagne are suitable, the rest (semi-sweet, sweet and dessert brands) give a strong taste contrast between sweet and salty, therefore they are not used. This is true for any seafood. In order for shrimp to go well with champagne, it is very important to cook them correctly. Not all spices and other additives will be beneficial. Some interrupt the taste of sparkling wine or change it for the worse.
