It is the most common dislocation in adults, as the shoulder joint has little stability and is easily dislocated. It usually occurs when a limb is touched and twisted outward.
There is severe pain. The injured person tries to block movements in the joint, supporting the affected limb.
The patient should be taken to a trauma surgery center for resetting the sprain as soon as possible. After setting, it is necessary to immobilize it in a chest bandage for 3 weeks. Sometimes there are consecutive dislocations in the same joint, then we are talking about habitual dislocation. The most common cause of these dislocations is too short, intermittent or improper immobilization. These dislocations require surgery.
