Due to the prevailing coronavirus epidemic, the authorities have introduced an obligation to cover the mouth and nose. This is to slow the spread of the coronavirus. People covering their mouth and nose will thus protect others in the event of an asymptomatic course of COVID-19. Check that children are required to wear a protective mask.
Who is required to cover their mouth and nose?
The obligation to cover the mouth and nose applies to all persons who:
- they move by public transport, i.e. buses, trams, metro, etc .;
- driving with strangers with whom they do not live, such as neighbors;
- they move along the street or city squares;
- work in workplaces where they have contact with people from outside, e.g. a courier;
- stay in public buildings, such as a bank, office, school, university, etc .;
- we meet in shops and marketplaces;
- go to service points;
- use parts of common blocks, i.e. the elevator, laundry room, staircase, parking lot, etc.

Should children wear face masks?
According to the current regulations, all persons moving in public places must cover their mouth and nose. However, this obligation does not apply to children under 4 years of age.
Children 13 and older may walk on the street without adult supervision. However, they must remember to keep an appropriate distance and cover their mouth and nose.
In addition, children under the age of 13 are also not allowed to leave the home without adult supervision. This means that young people under the age of 13 cannot stay outside the home in the company of their friends and cannot leave the home alone. In other words, his presence outside the home is only justified if he goes out with an adult. It does not have to be the parent or legal guardian of the child.

Who else is not required to wear a face mask?
Apart from children under 4, the following are also exempt from the obligation to cover the mouth and nose:
- people who have breathing problems – no certificate or certificate is required;
- people who are not able to put on and remove face shields on their own due to their health condition – no decision or certificate is required;
- people driving the car with strangers with whom they live, such as a roommate, family members;
- people driving alone in a car with children up to 4 years of age;
- people working in workplaces, public buildings and commercial facilities, who have no contact with people from outside, e.g. customers, clients or courier;
- public transport drivers and private carriers who are protected from passengers by an appropriate protective cover;
- farmers at work on the farm;
- soldiers of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland and allied forces as well as officers of the Military Counterintelligence Service and the Military Intelligence Service while performing their official duties.

What can cover the mouth and nose?
Most people cover their mouth and nose with a protective mask. However, this is not the only possibility. You can also use a scarf, scarf, shawl, or any other piece of clothing, but also, for example, a visor.

The masks should be made of preferably cotton, cotton with an admixture of elastane or linen, linen, polyester, viscose with an admixture of polyester, polyamide with polyester and fleece.
