To prepare a festive version of homemade shortbread cookies, you will need:
– ½ teaspoon of cocoa – 100 g of chocolate.
Knead the shortbread cookie dough according to the previous recipe, divide it into 2 halves, add half a teaspoon of cocoa powder to one of them and knead the dough thoroughly.
Roll out two layers (light and dark) and cut small biscuits from each. It is more convenient to do this with a glass. After baking, combine light and dark cookies with any cream, boiled condensed milk or jam. You can combine light and chocolate dough in one ball. In order for cookies of this shape to bake well, they should not be larger than a walnut in size.
Cookies will turn out very beautiful if you prepare them as follows: take a piece of light dough and roll it into a long and narrow plate. From the dark dough, make the tourniquet thinner and place it in the middle of the light plate. Then pinch the edges of the plate and lightly roll the resulting thick rope with your hands on a cutting board to roll up the seam. Then cut with a knife into pieces 3-4 cm long, put them on a baking sheet at a distance of 2-3 cm from each other and put them in an oven preheated to 200 ° C for 20 minutes.
As a festive option, you can make “branded” cookies. To do this, make “fingers” or shortbreads from the dough without adding cocoa, bake, let the cookies cool, melt a bar of chocolate in a water bath or in the microwave and dip half or a third of each cookie in chocolate. When it has solidified, place the shortbread cookies in a box or vase.
