shoes with heels, foot treatment, health, beauty
As they say, heels are a universal thing: put on – a beauty, take off – happy. What can we do to make our favorite shoes a decoration and do not harm our feet?
Stylists for the fall offer a lot of shoe options. The most tempting models with heels. Shoes, boots, ankle boots will perfectly complement a carefully thought-out image. But how do you take care of the legs?
Let’s start by studying anatomy
Our small foot (whether you are size 41 or size 35 is small compared to the whole body) carries all our weight. And in high-heeled shoes, we transfer this weight to our toes. And the foot is not grateful to us for this: due to the increased load, discomfort increases, pain appears, skin and even calluses, muscle spasms, corns, and bursitis of the thumb. All this is a price to pay for high heels. But the situation can be corrected without giving up your favorite shoes.
The main thing to look for when choosing shoes with high heels is size. In no case should they be large – the foot will be unstable in such a shoe, which can provoke a fall, and as a result – injury. If the shoes are at least half a size smaller, this will lead to deformation of the foot.
Second tip – don’t go blindly after fashion, don’t buy a model with a pointed nose: your fingers will be squeezed (hello, bursitis!).
Go to the shoe store in the evening – your foot after a day’s load will allow you to choose the optimal size, as it will not fit into tight shoes, which will help to avoid the torment of “carrying” in the future.
Make sure that the last fits you – it’s easy to find out: the shoe will “hug” your leg, leaving no gaps anywhere and without causing discomfort at the fitting stage. Take a few steps to see how comfortable it is for you to move around.
“Leave high-heeled shoes only for special occasions” – this advice is given by doctors and stylists alike. But what about avid fashionistas and those whose dress code recommends heels? There are little tricks. Silicone insoles can help prevent pressure on the forefoot when wearing high heels. They will act as a buffer, in addition, there are “ribbed” insoles that will help your foot not slip in shoes with an open toe or sandals. Stock up on a patch – have a strategic supply (in your purse, in your car, in your jeans pocket) so you can use it as soon as you feel uncomfortable. Never go to an event in new shoes – wear them at home for a few evenings first. So you can find out the problem areas and stick there special silicone gaskets, which are available in different sizes and shapes.
Those who cannot imagine their life without hairpins must have experienced a contraction of the Achilles tendon – a very painful sensation. This is the area from the back of the heel to the lower leg. The trouble is that even if you take off the heels, the pain will not go away in flat-soled shoes, the deformation is so deep. To keep your legs from getting this way, do ankle stretches, like runners do. Or ask your fitness instructor to show you a couple to make sure they are done correctly. But stretching alone is not enough – you need to strengthen the calf muscles, the muscles of the thighs and buttocks. Walking in heels is a serious physical activity.
Sadly, a podiatrist is a heel lover’s best friend. See your doctor and don’t neglect a professional pedicure. The master will competently remove calluses and corns for you. Do a foot bath and light massage every night. Moisturize the skin of the feet, there will be fewer calluses. Roll a small rubber ball with your foot (take it away from your pet for a while) or an empty bottle. This massage will help restore blood circulation in the foot.
