Shish kebab: how to cook, how to grill, how to clean skewers
5 cool life hacks for those who are going to a picnic.
We know what you will be doing this weekend. Go to nature for sure. It’s good if there is a man nearby. He will light a fire and a shish kebab. And if there is no such thing on the horizon? Well, okay, you can have a great bachelorette party. Moreover, with our advice, even the most helpless young ladies will be able to fry meat in nature.
In case there is no barbecue at hand, you can make a small grill from scrap materials, and in a matter of seconds. We take any tin can. The higher the walls, the larger the grill will be. Cut off the bottom on one side. We cut the walls of the can into strips, leaving a couple of centimeters at the very bottom.
We bend the strips to make a chamomile from the jar. Now we cover it with foil, and put coals or hot stones in the center. We close all this with a grate, which can be borrowed from the oven. Of course, one such grill will not be enough for a large company, but two of them can be fed with interest.
You can also make a great grill from a ceramic flower pot. Just put the coals on the bottom, the grate on top, and you can fry.
Onions instead of dish gel
Remember the perennial debate between Villaribo and Villabaggio over who was the best dish detergent? But you are unlikely to take a gel for washing to nature, and it will be very difficult to wash it off without running water. So don’t even try, but take half an onion, prick it on a fork, and rub it over the grill grate with an onion while it’s still hot. Clean and no chemistry.
Cotton balls instead of ignition fluid
Take regular cotton balls, dip them in petroleum jelly and put them in a bag for a picnic. One such ball will burn for almost a minute – an excellent starter for fire, no liquid is needed for ignition.
Banana dessert on the fire
Are you drawn to sweets? If you have a couple of chocolate cubes and a banana in your bag, you can make a delicious dessert. Bake on a wire rack or directly over charcoal. The main thing is to leave part of the peel and, after making an incision on top, add chocolate.
You can, of course, bring ready-made popcorn from home. But it will already be cold and tasteless. You can easily make popcorn over a fire. Simply pour the contents of the pack into foil, wrap tightly and send to the wire rack. When the grains stop popping, you can take out the popcorn foil. Just be very careful not to burn yourself.
