Shingles – how to recognize the disease?

Could it be shingles?

How to recognize shingles ~ Krzysztof, 32 years old

Shingles is an infectious disease caused by a virus. It usually occurs in people who have had chickenpox in the past. Skin lesions are usually asymmetrical, located on one side of the body, often on the torso, along one dermatome. Most often, therefore, they have quite a limited location. However, there are also rare cases of more diffuse lesions. The eruptions are small blisters on an erythematous basis, filled with serous-bloody fluid. The disease is most often accompanied by intense pain (neuralgia), which may also occur several days before the onset of skin changes.
