As you can see, you can place a microwave not only on a table or windowsill. There are various options and you can find a way out for different cases. By the way, microwave floor shelves can be not only made of metal. They are also made from furniture chipboard and MDF. For the most part, an open compartment is allocated for the microwave installation, while the rest either store smaller equipment, or use it to store dishes / supplies, etc.
What are microwave brackets?
The main advantage of the brackets for installing a microwave oven is that they are practically invisible when the appliance is installed on them. Minus – in case of a side impact, the device can fly off. If the place is chosen “impassable” – it’s not scary. Otherwise, it is better to choose a shelf with side edges or come up with some kind of stops to fix the device.
When choosing a microwave bracket, pay attention to how much weight they are designed for. You should also think about the bearing capacity of the wall on which you are going to hang the microwave. For its uniform distribution, it is necessary to choose models in which the part of the bracket that is screwed to the wall is long. And holes for fasteners are distributed along the entire length.
Another good option is a horizontal jumper. It is attached to the wall, and to it there are already L-shaped supports for a microwave oven. So, too, the load is distributed over a larger surface.
What else can be said about microwave oven brackets? They can be telescopic with the ability to adjust the length by which the stops extend. There may be plastic pads on the stops. Thanks to them, the device slips less. You can choose brackets by color. Usually it is painted metal. More often they take either in color with a microwave oven, or in color with kitchen furniture.

The easiest way to fix the microwave on the wall is by placing it on a shelf. If, when designing kitchen furniture, an open special shelf was not provided, it will be necessary to find a place for installing an additional one. Shelves are the most common – two or three brackets on which the shelf itself is fixed. These are easier than ever to make yourself. There are more complex multi-tiered models.
They make shelves for the microwave from different materials:
- Metal – stainless steel, nickel-plated steel, galvanized, painted.
- From a tree. Under varnish or paint.

Not all microwave oven models can be built in. In conventional, there should be an air gap to the wall. This, by the way, should be paid attention to in ordinary shelves. But there, usually the sidewalls are not closed, which improves ventilation.
