Sezon na alergika

Almost all of Europe is already sensitized. Every third inhabitant of the old continent struggles with allergies. Food or inhalation intensifies in certain periods, giving, in the simplest terms, an unpleasant experience of itching, burning of the respiratory tract, skin hives, watery eyes or gastrointestinal problems.

Spring is the perfect time when the world waking up after winter begins to tire every allergy sufferer for good. Accustomed to the frosty and fresh air, all the “interested” begin to tremble before the effects of the arrival of this dream season. Why? It’s trivially simple. Soon their greatest friend will be a pack of tissues and a spare sheet of allergy pills.

One of the allergens that interferes with the proper functioning of the body is grass pollen. Recent studies have shown that there are about 800 types of grass allergens alone! So it’s hard not to notice that escaping from them doesn’t seem to be the easiest thing to do.

The first symptoms

An allergic reaction begins when the body has an increased content of histamine, one of the active substances that is involved in the production of antibodies. Burning, itching all over the body, additionally severe and chronic inflammation of the upper respiratory tract during spring may indicate allergic problems. It is best to seek advice in medical clinics, where you can carry out a test that will specify whether these problems are related to flowering grasses.

What exactly do they smoke?

Specifically, each plant pollens. When it comes to grasses, all species start pollen production in the second half of April. However, the initial concentration of them in the air is almost imperceptible through the nose of a potential patient. The apogee comes at the end of May. May and June are the months in Poland when grasses bloom. With dry air and high insolation, the presence of about 20-30 pollen per 1 m3 is estimated, and this is enough to get rhinitis, sinusitis or dry cough combined with hoarseness and itching.

Tips for alleviating symptoms

A good method is to humidify the air, everywhere. Under the influence of moisture, invisible pollen coalesces and falls to the ground. It is worth investing in air humidifiers – they will help allergy sufferers sleep peacefully at night. It is also a good idea to avoid long walks in nature, if possible. Spring, although beautiful, is treacherous, so outdoor activities should take place on cloudy, cool and humid days. You should also remember about frequent airing of bedding, washing floors and getting rid of excess curtains and curtains from the house. Rooms should be ventilated in the morning or late in the evening so that pollen does not get into the house.

It never hurts to rinse the airways and moisten them, especially when it comes to the nasal mucosa. So, allergy sufferers!
