Sex: the source of life force

Sexual activity helps us to increase our vitality, improve health and even heal diseases. Taoist teacher Mantak Chia tells about how to correctly use the energy of sexual pleasure.

Psychologies:In your seminars, you teach women how to manage sexual energy in order to increase their vitality. Why is it so important to be able to experience sexual pleasure?

Mantek Chia: The genital area is the most powerful center of energy in the human body. In the Taoist teachings, there are three centers of energy, “tan tien”: the brain, heart and genitals. But they have a different ability to produce and store energy.

Most people know how to make their brain work, but they neglect their heart or sexuality. The brain circulates qi only when it is active. The heart produces more long-term energy.

When we experience joy, sympathy or love, the heart multiplies the energy that comes to it and sends it to all the cells of the body. When we are happy or in love, it greatly increases our vitality.

Sexual energy is so powerful and beneficial that Chinese medicine has been recommending it for thousands of years to heal many diseases. Having sex in a certain position at a certain time, you can not only feel your vitality, but also direct it to a diseased organ.

So, in order to feel healthy, you need to take care of your intellectual life, and feelings, and sexuality?

Quite right. When the heart is happy, thoughts are more cheerful. And vice versa. Energy centers influence each other. This is clearly seen in those affected by Alzheimer’s disease: a decrease in sexual energy, for example, with the onset of menopause, leads to impaired brain function. But the energy of the three centers, although it has the same nature, produces a different effect.

The heart gives birth to love, and the genitals – excitement and orgasm. When these forces combine and a person experiences both love and orgasm, the vital energy reaches its peak. It is this process that most contributes to cell division, in which new cells are created.

When approaching orgasm, you need to make the excitement rise to the brain

Taoists not only strongly recommend making love to keep you young, but they also teach you to have multiple orgasms in a row to increase your sexual energy. When approaching orgasm, you need to make the excitement rise to the brain – and so four, five, or even ten times. The enjoyment will be more intense every time. In this case, a deep renewal takes place in the body.

Is the sexual energy of women of the same nature as that of men?

No. We believe that two primary energies – yang and yin – govern the universe. They are present in each of us, but in a man there is more yang, and in a woman – yin. Having sex makes these two energies circulate between a man and a woman in order to achieve harmony in the yin and yang of each.

For Taoists, the pleasure of both partners is equally important, and multiple orgasms allow for ever higher levels of intimacy. But the techniques for increasing sexual energy are different for men and women. For example, a man should protect his sperm, and a woman, on the contrary, should achieve orgasm many times in order to increase her yin.

Many employers complain that employees visit adult websites. In vain: it actually improves performance

When women experience arousal, it is immediately noticeable: they secrete more fluid, sweat more than men. Few people know that women are able to ejaculate. Taoists recommend stimulating a woman’s clitoris and G-spot without penetrating her until she releases water three times. And we are talking about women of any age.

Is sexual energy available outside of sexual relationships?

Undoubtedly. It is very useful if, for example, you need to work intensively. To cause sexual arousal is very simple: just admire a beautiful woman or a seductive man in reality or in a photo, or even just give free rein to your erotic fantasies. Then calm down and contain the excitement in order to direct it to the brain.

Many employers complain that employees visit adult websites. In vain: what seems like a waste of time and money actually increases efficiency, increases a person’s vital activity.

Practical advice for women

“For modern women,” insists Mantak Chia, “it is important to rediscover for themselves an “interactive map” of pleasure, that is, the most sensitive points of the body.” During intimacy, he recommends that men stimulate the clitoris, and women choose positions in which the penis is in contact with the G-spot: lying on their stomach or sitting on a man.

To increase the frequency and intensity of orgasms, absorb sexual energy and direct it to the coccyx, along the spinal column to the brain and further throughout the body, women need to train the pubococcygeal muscle (PC muscle).

One can learn to contract the vagina by inserting a jasper egg into it and moving it up and down. The highest level of mastery is the “great absorption” together, when a man and a woman in a face-to-face position simultaneously contract their PC muscles, exchanging sexual energy.

Practical advice for men

For a man, the most important thing is to restrain ejaculation. Taoists believe that semen carries sexual energy that tends to leave the body through the genitals. For young men, this is not a cause for concern, since they produce enough sperm and can afford to spend some of it.

But at a more mature age, such waste becomes undesirable. Therefore, a 20-year-old man is allowed to ejaculate once every four days, a 40-year-old man once every ten days, and after sixty it is generally unacceptable.

There are different ways to delay ejaculation. This is achieved by training … A man must strengthen the PC muscle, straining it or trying to lift a napkin placed on the penis. During sexual intercourse, contraction of this muscle will prevent ejaculation.

Then you should try to direct the stored sexual energy through the coccyx and sacrum to the head. How? With an effort of thought, visualizing the flow of energy along the spinal column until a tingling sensation occurs. When control is achieved, it is worth trying to force the energy to descend: between the eyebrows, along the nose and throat to the solar plexus.
