Sexual attraction (sexual desire) is the attraction of a man to a woman (a woman to a man) for the purpose of intimacy, intimate bodily caresses and sexual intercourse. “I want you as a woman!”, “I am drawn to you as a man.”
Spiritual desire and physical attraction
Sexual desire has two sides — spiritual desire and bodily desire (libido).
As a spiritual desire, sexual desire manifests itself in various ways: as a need for tenderness and affection, a need to protect a weak creature, a desire for hugs, love for animals, platonic feelings, etc.
Mental desire can be controlled by ourselves, bodily desire (our libido) is controlled by our hormones.
What does libido depend on?
Human libido is highly dependent on the production of the male hormone testosterone. Without testosterone, there is no libido. However, this deficiency is felt by the castrated men as not too bad («Doesn’t want to and can’t»). Women’s libido also depends on hormones.
