Parkinson’s disease

Tremor in the hand Resting is one of the four most characteristic symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. The other three are: bradykinesia, muscle stiffness usually affecting the limbs, and disturbances in gait and posture. Parkinson’s belongs to the group of neurodegenerative diseases, and its essence is the disappearance of the so-called dopaminergic cells found in the brain.

The disease develops insidiously and silently. Usually, at the time of diagnosis, about 50-60 percent. the neurons that produce dopamine are already destroyed. In Poland, about 100 suffer from parkinson’s disease. people, and it is estimated that its advanced form is over 20 percent. Initial pharmacological treatment improves your health and allows you to function normally. The period known as the “honeymoon” is, however, quite short – from 3 to 5 years.

Parkinson shows his true face in an advanced stage. The patient becomes more and more dependent on his loved ones – it becomes difficult to eat, travel short distances, and function in society and family.

Osteoarthritis of the joints of the hands

It mainly affects people over 40. Among the risk factors, an important role is played by family predisposition, as well as exposure to repeated micro-injuries related to work or sports and recreational activities. The characteristic symptoms are pain and stiffness, most often affecting the proximal and distal interphalangeal joints and the base of the thumb joint. The symptoms worsen with movement and decrease at rest, although in exacerbations the disease may occur all the time, also at night.

As a rule, after a period of disease worsening caused by a change in the structure of the joint and formation degenerative nodules – the so-called Heberden and Bouchard nodules, there is significant pain relief. Anemia

Damp, sweaty palms are a characteristic symptom of an overactive thyroid gland. Due to the accelerated metabolism, the body generates more heat, which results in high sweating. Another symptom is trembling fingers, as well as brittle nails – as a result of separating the nail plate from its bed, it may become rounded upwards (the so-called Plummer’s nails).

Among the reported ailments, patients often mention weight loss despite increased appetite, nervousness, increased heart rate, hair loss, and menstrual disorders. It is estimated that hyperthyroidism affects about 1-2 percent of adults in Poland, with the majority of patients being women.

Psoriasis

They are usually located on the elbows, knees, in the sacrum area, on the buttocks, hands and feet, or on the scalp. The surface of the lesions is covered with a silvery or silvery-gray scale, the so-called plaque.

Skin lesions may be accompanied by nail psoriasis, but it may also be the only symptom of the disease. Psoriasis is initially treated only externally. When the use of ointments and irradiation does not give the expected results, oral medications are also administered.

Tinea

Its typical symptoms include red, dry and flaky skin. Itching and burning sensation are also characteristic. Oral medications are used in the absence of improvement.

Liver disease

The liver, even if it is sick, does not hurt for a long time. The fact that something bad is happening to our organ, called a “large filter”, may be evidenced by the appearance of the skin. Thus, in the course of liver cirrhosis, erythema may appear on the skin of the hand, accompanied by excessive warming. It also comes to bulging and thickening of the nail plate. There is a longitudinal ripple and a white color of the proximal part of the plate.
