Serums with hyaluronic acid for the face: how to use, apply

Benefits of Hyaluronic Acid Serum

Let’s start by recapping what hyaluronic acid is. Hyaluronic acid is naturally present in human tissues, in particular in the skin of the face. With age and due to other external factors (for example, exposure to ultraviolet rays on the skin), the content of hyaluronic acid in the body decreases.

How does a low level of hyaluronic acid manifest itself? The skin becomes duller, radiance disappears, a feeling of tightness and fine wrinkles appear. You can maintain the concentration of hyaluronic acid in the body with the help of beauty treatments and special cosmetics.

Now on the market you can find any formats of care and even decorative products with hyaluronic acid in the composition:

  • foams;
  • tonics;
  • creams;
  • masks;
  • patches;
  • foundation creams;
  • and even lipstick.

However, serums remain the most effective home “conductor” of hyaluronic acid.

What do serums do, and who will like them?

Their most important superpower is, of course, deep skin hydration, both from the inside and the outside. Home, but not the only one! The concentrate improves and corrects the tone and texture of the skin, smoothes fine wrinkles, as if filling them with moisture. Hyaluronic acid makes the skin more elastic and dense, as the component is involved in the synthesis of collagen and protects cells from free radicals. There is an effect of radiance, softness and elasticity of the skin.

In cosmetics, synthesized hyaluronic acid of two types is usually used:

  1. High molecular weight – used in products for dehydrated skin, as well as after peelings and other aesthetic procedures traumatic for the skin.
  2. Low molecular weight – better copes with the solution of anti-aging problems.

At the same time, hyaluronic acid, despite what is called an “acid”, unlike other components of this category, does not have the usual functions of acids, that is, it does not exfoliate the skin and does not have dissolving properties.

As part of serums, hyaluronic acid is often supplemented with other components, such as vitamins and plant extracts. They enhance the moisturizing effect, maintain a high level of moisture and ensure deeper penetration of active ingredients into the skin.

Another advantage of hyaluronic acid serums is their versatility. We will talk about this further.
