Septolux is used to treat the symptoms of inflammation of the mouth and throat and after tooth extraction. The preparation is a non-steroidal inflammatory drug, the active substance of which is benzydamine. After topical application, this substance is well absorbed and reaches high concentrations in tissues that are inflamed. The medicine is in the form of lozenges and can be obtained without a prescription.

Septolux- indications and dosage
Septolux is recommended for the treatment of:
- symptoms of inflammation of the mouth and throat,
- conditions after tooth extraction.
Dosage of the preparation
Septolux is in the form of lozenges. Do not exceed the recommended dose as it may endanger your life or health.
- Adults and children after 6 years of age 1 tablet suck 3-4 × / d.
Septolux and contraindications
Contraindications to taking Septolux are:
- allergy to any ingredient of the preparation,
- fenyloketonuria.
Septolux – warnings
- Consult your doctor if you do not feel better during short-term treatment with Septolux.
- An allergy may occur during long-term use of the drug.
- The drug may be harmful for patients with phenylketonuria because it contains aspartame.
- Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before taking the drug
Septolux with other drugs
There are no known interactions of Septolux with other preparations.
Septolux – side effects
Taking Septolux may cause the following side effects:
- there is often numbness or loss of sensation at the site of application,
- a rare prickling or tingling sensation,
- sometimes a slight burning sensation of the mucosa,
- local side effects are usually transient, resolve spontaneously and rarely require treatment discontinuation.
- the drug is absorbed in a small amount into the circulation,
- nausea, vomiting, headache and dizziness are rare and mild.
