Septolete Plus is a preparation used to disinfect and relieve pain in mild infections of the mouth and throat. The preparation is a combined drug containing benzocaine (local anesthesia) and cetylpyridine (antibacterial and antifungal activity). Septolete Plus is not recommended for pregnant and breastfeeding women. The drug is in the form of lozenges and is available without a prescription.

Septolete Plus are lozenges used to decontaminate and relieve pain:

  1. oral cavity,
  2. throat.

Dosage

Septolete Plus is in the form of lozenges, use it as directed and do not exceed the daily dose. Do not take the preparation immediately before and during a meal, and in children up to 12 years of age.

  1. Adults and children over 12 years of age Suck 1 lozenge every 2-3 hours, max. 8 lozenges / day.

Septolete Plus and contraindications

Contraindications to taking Septolete Plus are:

  1. hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation.
  2. use in children under 12 years of age,
  3. use by pregnant women and during breastfeeding.

Septolete Plus – warnings

  1. The preparation should not be used in the case of wounds and erosions in the mouth.
  2. Patients with severe infections and high fever, headaches and vomiting should consult a doctor if symptoms worsen or do not improve after 3 days.
  3. Each lozenge contains about 1 g of maltitol, and insulin is needed for its biotransformation, so patients with diabetes should be careful.
  4. Maltitol has little effect on blood glucose levels due to slow hydrolysis and slow absorption from the gastrointestinal tract.
  5. Septolete Plus contains the alcoholic polyhydric: mannitol and maltitol, which, when taken in high doses, can lead to diarrhea, especially in children.
  6. Do not give the drug to children under 12 years of age.
  7. Pregnant women should consult a doctor before using the drug.
  8. It is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women.

Septolete Plus with other drugs

Septolete Plus – side effects

Gastrointestinal disorders may appear while taking Septolete Plus:

  2. diarrhea,

when the drug is used in a dose higher than the recommended dose.

In hypersensitive people, the following may appear:

  1. irritation,
  2. rash.
