How can your love life be affected by sleeping in separate beds? We are publishing a fragment of Bożena Stasiak’s book “Intimate letters”, recommended by sexologist prof. Zbigniew Lew-Starowicz.
I don’t know how or when it happened
I don’t even know how or when it happened, but we started to sleep in separate beds. I think it was after one of us flu, but now I’m not sure. At least since then, our sex has become lame, very lame. At the beginning of this bed separation it was so that one of us came at night. And then these night walks stopped.
I guess we stopped wanting. And it surprises me, because we are not old yet, we are not even 50 years old. Could it be that sex between us is dead forever? (Monika, 46 years old)
Risky separate beds
It is not uncommon that the break in intimate contacts begins when they both agree to sleep in separate beds. Sometimes it is justified, especially in old age, when it is more comfortable to spend the night separately due to various ailments. Or when one of the partners is snoring terribly. Only such cases do not necessarily mean the end of sex.
Night meetings in one bed or another in another can be exciting. Of course, first there must be a desire to undertake nocturnal escapades. Plus, the bed isn’t the only place to make love. The longer the break in sexual contact, the greater the decrease in excitement leading to its disappearance.
Is the return of intimate life possible?
Is it possible to return to sexual activity after a break? Unfortunately, not always. Sometimes even professional help does not work. It happens that the physical possibilities are still smoldering, but there is no desire to use them. No aphrodisiac can change that. It may be that there is no desire and the possibilities are over. Libido is not a self-propelled mechanism. This must be remembered before you turn your backs on each other.
