Self-care during pregnancy: body, chest, abdomen

Self-care during pregnancy is complicated by the fact that not all procedures and cosmetics are beneficial to mother and baby. However, this is not a reason to give up taking care of your own appearance for 9 months, but rather an incentive to learn how to choose natural, safe cosmetics.

While in an “interesting position”, review your facial skin care program, guided by the following principles.

Taking care of yourself during pregnancy requires a careful study of the composition of the cosmetics used.

  1. Avoid all kinds of injections, lifts and anti-aging creams for 9 months.
  2. Carefully read the labels of cosmetics: natural oils, water, plant extracts should prevail in the composition. If natural ingredients are at the end of the list, and at the beginning there are chemical compounds with complex names, refuse to use a cosmetic product.
  3. Retinoids should not be present in the formula of the care product, since excess vitamin A can harm the baby.
  4. Monitor the presence of carcinogens 1,2-Dioxane, Acetamide MEA, Alkyl-phenol-ethoxylades, Aluminum, Benzene, Bronopol in cosmetics – they are poisonous and cause mutations.

The same recommendations should be followed when choosing body care products.

Body care during pregnancy

Stretch marks, age spots, loss of skin elasticity – these are just a few of the problems that pregnant women face. What to do in such cases?

  1. Do not try to get rid of age spots and discolorations during pregnancy. In most cases, pigmentation resolves on its own a few months after delivery.
  2. Breast care during pregnancy should be limited to the selection of comfortable supportive underwear and moisturizing the skin with olive oil. Olive oil stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, thereby preventing stretch marks. It is advisable to give up synthetic creams for a while.
  3. Caring for your belly during pregnancy is important for the same reason: no one is immune from stretch marks. Take a contrast shower, rub olive oil, and eat more protein to stimulate connective tissue repair.
  4. Avoid peeling and ozone therapy during the gestation period.

During pregnancy, it is strictly forbidden to perform anti-cellulite or vacuum massage, visit saunas and pools with hot water, and also do laser hair removal.
