Sedam is a preparation from the group of benzodiazepine derivatives with anxiolytic, sedative, hypnotic and anticonvulsant properties. It is used, among others, in the case of anxiety disorders that require pharmacological treatment.

The active substance in Sedam

Seven is an exclusively available drug on prescription, produced by the Sandoz company. The medicine is presented in the form of 30 hard tablets, each containing 3 mg of the active substance – a 6 mg version is also available. The main active substance of the drug Seven is bromazepam which is a derivative of benzodiazepine. Bromazepam in low doses reduces anxiety and tension, while a higher dose relaxes the muscles and has a calming effect. The active substance of the drug increases the inhibitory effect of gamma-aminobutyric acid in the central nervous system.

Use of Sedam

Preparation Seven It is only used in the treatment of: generalized anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorders, adaptation disorders and anxiety that occur as a result of chronic diseases of the central nervous system. Seven It is also used in the case of somatic disorders of the autonomic system, i.e. manifested, for example, by problems with the digestive system or the circulatory system.

Contraindications to the use of Sedam and side effects

Leku Seven cannot be used if you are allergic or hypersensitive to any of the ingredients of the preparation or to other benzodiazepines. It is also forbidden to use the drug when you are addicted to alcohol, drugs or medications, and in the case of alcohol or drug poisoning. Drug Seven cannot be used by children and adolescents under 18 years of age. Sometimes certain diseases or other circumstances may constitute contraindication to use the preparation, therefore it is necessary to notify the doctor about any problems, even past ones. Particular caution should be exercised in the case of such conditions as severe liver disease, sleep apnea syndrome or respiratory failure. It should be remembered that any drug has a certain chance of causing unexpected occurrences side effects. The preparation is intended for oral use and should be taken only as prescribed by the doctor. Unless your doctor tells you otherwise, initial dosage of the drug is 3 mg 1 hour before bedtime. The treatment lasts up to 12 weeks, while the preparation should be discontinued gradually, by reducing it doses.
