In this article, you will learn how to encrypt an Excel file so that it requires a password when opened.
- Open the book.
- On the Advanced tab File (File) click Save as (Save As).
- Click on Service (Tools) and select Common parameters (General Options).
- In the Password to open (Password to open) enter the password and press OK.
- Confirm password and press again OK.
Note: This function encrypts the Excel file. If you have lost or forgotten your password, you will not be able to recover it.
- Enter a filename and click Save (Save).
Now, when you open a file, Excel will ask for a password.
