Seborrheic alopecia – symptoms and treatment

Particular intensification of seborrhea and related lesions is found in the so-called seborrheic gutters (sternum area, face, hairy head, over- and inter-scapular area).

It is also called male pattern baldness. It occurs more often in men. They are usually preceded by dandruff, first dry, white, then oily, adhering to the scalp. The changes usually begin around the age of 30, less often earlier.

The first symptom is enlargement of the frontotemporal angles followed by a progressive thinning at the top of the head.

Treatment

It is difficult, effective preparations available (expensive) do not have a lasting effect, their beneficial effects diminish when treatment is discontinued.
