Sebidin Plus – indications for use. Are there any side effects?

Sebidin Plus is an antiseptic drug used in family medicine, dentistry and otolaryngology for pharyngitis, gingivitis and other diseases related to the use of poorly fitted prosthetic devices. The preparation affects the respiratory and digestive systems, has antifungal and bactericidal properties.

Indications for the use of Sebidin Plus

Sebidin Plus is administered in the presence of the following ailments:

  1. pharyngitis;
  2. gingivitis and periodontal disease prevention and treatment;
  3. inflammation of the oral mucosa of a catarrhal nature;
  4. chronic recurrent mouth ulcers, thrush, erosions and pressure ulcers;
  5. decontamination of the oral cavity before and after surgery.

Dosage: Adults and children after the age of 12. Suck after a meal and brushing teeth 1 tablet. 4 × / d (every 6 hours). It is not recommended to rinse the mouth and drink plenty of fluids for 2 hours after using the drug.

Sebidin Plus and contraindications and warnings

Hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation and phenylketonuria are a contraindication to the use of Sebidin Plus.

Sebidin Plus – warnings:

  1. The product does not contain sugar. Contains a source of phenylalanine and may be harmful for patients with phenylketonuria.
  2. The use of Sebidin Plus may impair the sense of taste, which usually subsides 4 hours after use.
  3. It is recommended to use the drug after a meal and after cleaning the teeth. For 2 hours after using the drug, it is not recommended to rinse the mouth or drink plenty of fluids.
  4. In individual patients (with diseases of the gastrointestinal tract or liver), gastrointestinal disorders such as nausea, vomiting, belching may occur; use of the drug should then be discontinued.
  5. It is not recommended to use for more than 14 days.
  6. Before using Sebidin Plus during pregnancy or breastfeeding, consult your doctor.

Sebidin Plus – interactions: No drug interactions were found.

Sebidin Plus – side effects:

Occasionally, allergic reactions (skin rashes and superficial exfoliation of the epithelium of the oral mucosa and swelling of the parotid glands occur rarely), irritation or inflammation of the oral mucosa. With long-term use, there may be changes in the shade of the color of the teeth and the back of the tongue, which may disappear spontaneously or must be removed by a doctor. In single patients (with diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and liver) gastrointestinal disorders such as nausea, vomiting, belching, diarrhea may occur. In these cases, you should stop taking the drug. There may also be other side effects; inform your doctor about them.
