Vacation is conducive to laziness, which often pulls us out of the daily ream of resolutions. Admittedly, as long as there is heat around us, we do not really feel like having a snack, but as the temperature drops, in the evening we catch up on food from the whole day.
Summer snacks do not necessarily have to be a burden for our figure. However, remember to keep moderation and common sense, and where possible, use lighter, healthier substitutes.
Would you like some meat?
Make skewers based on pork tenderloin on the grill. In this way, you will consume more than twice as much fat as reaching for sausage. However, four times less than if you had decided on a portion of pork neck.
The caloric content of meat is worth losing weight. You can immediately reach for a leaner type, cut off a piece of fat, or just before eating, remove the baked skin from it.
Enrich the meal with vegetables, which you can also prepare on the grill. An excellent choice is zucchini, eggplant, peppers or cherry tomatoes. Vegetables prepared in this way will allow you to achieve a feeling of satiety faster, while the salad will provide anti-cancer substances and reduce the absorption of harmful substances in the digestive tract, e.g. from melted fat on coals.
Give up heavy meals. Pork chops, fries and potato pancakes will make us even more lazy, effectively depriving us of the desire for even a little exercise, even during the perfect weather. If you’re craving fish, grill it instead of frying it in batter, which is known to absorb a lot of fat.
An ad hoc day crowned with a barbecue once a month will certainly not contribute to the disastrous effects on the figure.
Watch out for snacks and alcohol
Traditionally consumed beer during summer feasts with friends, replace with a glass of wine. Whereas chips and crackers – wholegrain toasts garnished with arugula on pesto. Other crunchy snacks can be successfully represented by sticks of vegetables, e.g.: carrots, cucumbers and celery. They will perfectly compose with yogurt dip with herbs, peppers or garlic.
A bit of ice cream for dessert
Ice cream is the perfect dessert because it has “negative calories”. The processes taking place in the body related to digestion and heating the body will require more energy than we consume with them. Of course, beware of fattening additives, such as sauces or dried fruit, and add seasonal fruit instead. In addition, you can choose from sorbet ice cream.
