Sea buckthorn tincture: 3 recipes at home

To prepare the tincture, you can use fresh, dried and frozen berries. But it should be remembered that a fresh berry will not lie for more than two days, and in order to preserve its appearance and useful properties, you can pour sea buckthorn with water at room temperature and refrigerate. This little secret will extend the shelf life of the berry.

Sea buckthorn tincture on vodka

Ingredients

  1. Sea buckthorn – 1 kg

  2. Vodka – 1,5-2 l

  3. Sugar – optional

  4. Water – optional

Method of preparation

  1. We fill the glass container with sea buckthorn for 2/3 of the volume and fill it to the top with an alcohol base.

  2. We insist 60-90 days in a dark warm place.

  3. After the specified time, drain the tincture, and squeeze the berries slightly. Then we send sea buckthorn tincture for 2-3 days in the refrigerator so that the fat fraction emerges.

  4. As soon as the oil floats, collect it with a syringe or spoon. The oil can be used for medicinal purposes.

  5. Now you need to filter the tincture several times. After that, you can add water and sugar to achieve the strength you need. At this stage, the strength of the drink is about 30 degrees.

  6. Let it brew in a cool place for one month. If the drink becomes cloudy, it must be passed through the filter again.

  7. Then we bottle it and enjoy the taste of homemade sea buckthorn tincture.

Sea buckthorn tincture on alcohol

Ingredients

  1. Sea buckthorn berry – 1 liter jar

  2. Granulated sugar – 9 tbsp. l.

  3. Alcohol 96% – 1 l

  4. Water – optional

Method of preparation

  1. Sea buckthorn must be thoroughly kneaded with sugar using a wooden spatula.

  2. We shift the prepared berry into a glass jar, cover with gauze and put it in a warm place for 3-4 days to start the fermentation process.

  3. After the specified time, pour alcohol into the jar and let it brew in a warm, dark place for at least 30 days.

  4. After 30 days, the tincture is carefully drained and passed through the filter.

  5. If you want to reduce the strength of the finished drink, then it’s time to add water and, if necessary, a little more sugar. Then brew for 7-14 days.

  6. Further, two methods can be used. The first is to pour the tincture into glass bottles and shake constantly during tasting so that the oil is evenly distributed throughout the drink. The second is to use the oil collection technique as in point 4 of the first recipe.

  7. Store the finished tincture of sea buckthorn in alcohol for no more than one year.

Moonshine tincture on sea buckthorn

Ingredients

  1. Frozen sea buckthorn berries – 1 l

  2. Moonshine – 2 l

  3. Walnut membranes – 1,5-2 tbsp. l.

  4. Honey – to taste

Method of preparation

  1. Pour walnut membranes into a liter jar, pour moonshine and insist 7 days in a dark, warm place.

  2. We shift the sea buckthorn into another jar, fill it with the remaining alcohol and send it to the nut membranes for tincture, also for 1 week.

  3. After the specified time, drain the sea buckthorn tincture and pour into a clean container. It can be used for medicinal purposes, in this recipe we will no longer need it.

  4. We pass the tincture on the membranes through the filter and pour the alcoholized berries. Let it brew in a dark place for 2-3 weeks.

  5. Then we pass the infusion through the filter, add honey to taste and pour into glass bottles.

  6. Before tasting, it is necessary to withstand a couple more days.
