An interesting study was carried out by scientists at the University of Warwick under the leadership of Dr. Marina Gular de Mendonça.
“Adults who are born prematurely are less likely to have a partner, have less sex and become parents,” says psychologist Goulard de Mendonça. – Earlier it was found that premature babies are more difficult to establish social connections. This makes it difficult to interact in society, including finding a partner. “
In order to come to similar conclusions, scientists analyzed more than two dozen studies, in which nearly 4,5 million people participated. It turned out that people who were born prematurely are 28 percent less likely to have romance, their sexual activity is 2,3 times lower, and the likelihood of becoming parents is 22 percent less than those born on time.
Especially unlucky in love for those born less than 32 weeks old. Those who were born before the 28th week of pregnancy had sex 3,2 times less often than those born in the prescribed 38-40 weeks.
“Premature babies are often more timid, withdrawn, they are not inclined to take risks, to have fun, they try to control everything,” the scientists explain. “It could be related to their romantic difficulties.”
The researchers add that parents can influence the outcome of events by trying to adapt their child to society as much as possible by helping them make friends. By the way, if, nevertheless, matured children find their love, then they build relationships as strong and stable as their peers.
