Scientists have found a link between family income and a child’s IQ

Information about 50 thousand women who gave birth to children was taken as a basis.

Employees of the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development in the United States conducted an interesting study that showed that the material status of parents is directly related to the intelligence of their children. Unbelievable, but it is a fact.

Scientists divided children into three groups (from poor families, from families with average incomes and from wealthy families) and examined their mental health and emotional state in three stages: at the age of four months, one year, and seven years.

As a result, we found out that children from rich families by school age were healthier and smarter than their peers from poor families. Moreover, initially (at birth) there were no neurological differences between the babies. Experts associate this data with several factors at once, the main of which are nutrition and education. Also, in their opinion, deviations in a child in poor families may be associated with the bad habits of their mothers: smoking and alcohol consumption.

It should be noted, however, that the results of the study are not one hundred percent. Every family has its own exceptions. There is no doubt that the rich can have children who are not inclined to learn, and the poor can have children with high IQ levels.

By the way, not so long ago it became known about a 13-year-old girl with an intelligence level exceeding Einstein himself. By the way, she was born into a family with an average income, but has already received an invitation to study at Oxford.
