Business rules the world today. the fate of the planet was decided by the generals, before that by the prophets and religious leaders, but today it seems that those who control the cash flows have the greatest influence on world events.
Translated from English, the word «business» means «business». It was on doing business, achieving results, achieving goals in the most effective way that humanity concentrated in the XNUMXth century. And those who diligently mastered this science have now taken the lead.
School of Business is first and foremost a school for achieving goals, whatever they may be. We learn at this school many useful and necessary skills in life that the Soviet people have largely lost — the skills to plan, measure efforts and results, anticipate surprises, negotiate and be responsible for what was promised and for our mistakes too, rely on ourselves, not a good uncle. I realized that the perestroika changes were irreversible in the winter of 1993, when in the evenings grandmothers appeared at metro stations in Moscow selling everyday products: this meant that we stopped relying on the government and started spinning ourselves.
Not only to be able to achieve your goal, but also to feel: what is yours in this world, what can make you happy?
But the attempt to cram all life into schemes for effectively achieving goals is doomed to failure. The criterion of efficiency is not the only and not always the main one. The well-known philosopher, sociologist and writer Alexander Zinoviev singled out two types of relations in human society: business, aimed at results, and communal, aimed at the harmony of relationships.
In a socialist society (in the USSR) everything was built on a communal basis, even business relations. In Western society during the period of classical capitalism, the opposite is true. Both equally distort human nature. In addition, the ability to successfully achieve your goals is not always accompanied by the ability to choose them — no less important for a harmonious life. Just imagine a person who successfully achieves all the goals in a row, without thinking about whether he needs it …
Eastern wisdom says: one who strives very passionately for something will get it, but will not get anything else. It is worth considering: is this what we are striving for? In addition to the ability to achieve goals, you also need the ability to feel what is yours in this world and what is not, what will make you happy, and what will only make you rich and successful, but at the same time deeply unhappy.
And here business talents will not help — there are many important things in life that do not fit into the science of doing business.
