Schizophrenia and demon possession

Hearing this from a believer or an unintelligent person is banal, but reading about the existence of demons in the works of a scientist is already interesting and unusual. We are talking about the work of the Turkish researcher Kemal Irmak. The first half of the book describes the disease itself, its symptoms, and everything that the representatives of the scientific community cannot argue with. But in the second half of the work, he talks about one of the options for solving the problem, which is to recognize the existence of the world of demons.

What exactly is the scientist talking about?

Let’s consider his version in more detail. Irmak moves from science to mysticism and the supernatural. It is clear that in the circles of scientists such statements could not go unnoticed. Everyone took it with skepticism and ridicule. But the author continued his thought, which was as follows:

  • his people perceive demons as creatures endowed with reason. They are invisible to the human eye, as they live in a parallel world;
  • These creatures have much in common with humans. They marry, have children, and die in old age. They live much longer than humans. These creatures can fly. If we add invisibility to this, they may well be in the world of people unnoticed by them;
  • these creatures are strong and able to take possession of the human body, and also subjugate it to themselves;
  • also, for the last centuries, they have been using their power, living in the bodies of representatives of the human world;
  • There are many reasons why this happens: a person can anger a demon, or, conversely, a demon will do it out of his love for him.

According to the scientist, when a demon possesses a person, he immediately establishes control between the body and the brain.

Schizophrenia and obsession: the connection according to the scientist

Kemal says that there are many common characteristics between demon possession and schizophrenia. So, the common features are:

  • visual hallucinations;
  • rave;
  • confusion of thoughts;
  • auditory hallucinations.

All these signs may be the result of demon control of the human brain. If the patient hears several voices inside at once, then this may indicate that several demons have taken possession of him at once.

Demons — who or «what» is it?

Naturally, demons are mostly fictional characters in which modern society does not believe in principle. But since in schizophrenics the disease can proceed too clearly and quickly, it is absolutely not strange that it is quite possible that the voices in the head may suggest some negative situations, which indicates that the patient can fulfill them in the end. As the practice of many scientists testifies, demons push people to implement negative actions both in relation to themselves and in relation to others, because they do not personify anything sacred (this is said in ancient chronicles, etc.).

Irmak research base

The scientist undertook to write his works on the basis of real stories. One of them was a story about a priest who deliberately called on a good demon to move into his body so that he would expel bad creatures from it. After that, the priest immediately felt better.

All this allows the scientist to state that one of the reasons for the appearance of schizophrenia may be the existence of the other world and its inhabitants, who can take control over the mind and body of a person.

Schizophrenia and demon possession

He also reports that doctors should finally stop looking for causes solely in medicine, and also consider the possibility of a person being possessed by the devil. Hallucinations and delusions are the main signs that can confirm this. He also states that for the healing of schizophrenics, it is worth inviting healers and religious people.
