Suffering

This feeling for the schizoid is a kind of otherness of joy. This is also a manifestation of life for him. Everything has to be experienced, including suffering. Socrates, when he was dying, having taken poison, calmly told what he was experiencing. 50th-century doctors inoculated themselves with diseases to find answers to scientific questions. Ponter injected himself with «material» from a venereal patient in order to understand whether syphilis and gonorrhea are different diseases. And for XNUMX years he approved the erroneous opinion that this is one and the same thing: ironically, the patient had both. Schizoids have a philosophical attitude to suffering, as well as to death: «I want to live in order to think and suffer.» Suffering, according to V. Frankl, has great meaning: it allows you to feel happiness more acutely, it purifies the soul. It is unlikely that we will suspect in such an attitude to the suffering of the paranoid, hyperthymia, hysteroid and epileptoid.

Suicide

In a schizoid person, this is not a cry for help, as in a hysteroid. For a schizoid, this means that “the picture of the world has not developed”, “such humanity does not suit me”, or simply “tired of putting on and taking off shoes”. “Give up your life, Eucritus, just as a mature olive falls from a branch, praising the tree on which it grew, and blessing the land that nurtured it.” Then he took out a naked dagger from the folds of his tunic and plunged it into his chest. This is how the great Frans describes the voluntary departure from the life of a stoic schizoid.
