Schizoid accentuation is characterized by the isolation of the individual, his isolation from other people. Schizoid people lack intuition and the ability to empathize. They have a hard time making emotional connections. With empathy, the schizoid is bad. Good with reflection, but nowhere with empathy. He does not feel another person, does not catch someone else’s mood, does not feel a clearly hostile attitude towards himself.
He does not fully understand what can cause a humorous attitude towards him in him, does not feel how much he hurts a person with his remarks, does not understand that he is already tired. Being often witty, the schizoid directs humor at the interlocutor, without thinking how harmless his jokes are.
All this can be called autistic egocentrism, as opposed to hysterical demonstrative egocentrism.
Here is a vivid example of such autistic egocentrism: Schizoid Hegel at one time lectured to one student who signed up for him. It was Ludwig Feuerbach, who, as we were taught by «the classics of Marxism-Leninism,» put an end to German classical philosophy and «whose materialism Marx combined with Hegel’s dialectic.»
Feeling the need for some kind of communication, schizoids go to libraries, sit next to other people in reading rooms, go to bookstores. They even engage in winter ice fishing (the same one sits at a distance at the prowess, and at the level of the unconscious, it spins in my head: after all, I’m not sitting alone).
