Almost any woman can face the problem of weakened hair. There are many reasons for this phenomenon: hard water from the tap, styling products used very often, blow-drying hair and even the negative impact of unfavorable weather. Therefore, you can peel the scalp in order to restore its softness.

Peeling – cleansing and nutrition

External factors negatively affect the scalp, as a result of which a polymer film (PPD) forms on its surface, which clogs hair follicles and slows down the supply of nutrients. These processes can ultimately lead to weakening, and sometimes even to hair loss. Masks and shampoos cannot completely get rid of PPD; scalp peeling can be a salvation.

This relatively recent scalp and hair treatment is originally from London. The exfoliation removes dead cells and accumulated acids that interfere with normal hair growth. The procedure activates root nutrition and allows the skin to receive the required amount of oxygen, helps prevent dermatitis and dandruff.

Hairdressers in salons usually do the peeling procedure with the use of special professional products, using therapeutic and vitamin complexes that contain vitamin D

There are two main types of head peeling. The first, chemical, is carried out with the help of acids (salicylic acid is most often used). There is no universal recipe for such a peeling, the composition of the drug is always selected by the doctor individually after examining and diagnosing the condition of the client’s scalp.

A contraindication for chemical head peeling is:

  • tendency to allergic reactions
  • pregnancy
  • lactation period
  • infectious skin diseases

The second type of head peeling is mechanical. It is performed using a scrub that removes dead cells. It is harmless to everyone and suits any hair type, is easy to use and can be used at home.

At home, one of the easiest is a saline scalp peel. This procedure requires regular coarse or medium-sized table salt. According to some reviews, iodized salt gives the best result.

Egg-salt peeling is also done by adding a couple of drops of oil to the mixture. For very long hair, you can double the dosage

Pour three tablespoons of salt with three tablespoons of water and stir well. The resulting mass is applied to the scalp and gently massaged with your fingers. The procedure should last 5-10 minutes, after which you should rinse your head with warm water. When the hair is dry, you need to comb it, sprinkling the comb with a few drops of essential oil, usually lavender or rosemary.
