Admit it, how do you wash the dishes? Probably under the tap! Alas, my acquaintances, friends and relatives do the same … Why is this happening in Russia and not happening in France, England, Germany, Italy and Japan?
Maybe foreigners are more disciplined? Or maybe it is on the subconscious of Russians that the vastness of their native country is huge and the water reserves will be eternal? Or maybe it’s just carelessness? The inhabitants of our country are not used to saving.
Why is a kitchen sink called a sink and is it sold with a hole plug? But we ignore this and wash the dishes under a powerful stream of water!
Residents of the countries listed above, on the contrary, strictly use the sink for its intended purpose, placing dishes in it that are free of food debris.
Recently I watched a documentary about Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain. They showed the royal kitchen and shots of how they wash dishes there: in sinks with detergent. Soak and then rinse in clean water.
Tariffs are escalating more and more, and this can only be resisted by learning how to spend everything prudently.
Pay bills without commissions from banks or on the Internet. In the terminal for receiving utility bills, this is also for the benefit of the home budget. Try to save water for one month according to the following tips and your wallet will noticeably fill up.
How to save water
- do not leave the tap open while brushing your teeth. Thus, you can save 10 or more liters a couple of times a day (at least 600 liters per month!) You can pour some water into a glass – this is enough for rinsing your mouth;
- when buying plumbing, be sure to pay attention to whether there is an economical drain mode, if not, buy another model;
- tip: fill a 2 liter plastic bottle with water and place in the tank. This will automatically save up to 20 liters. in a day;
- if the drain handle often remains in a position that allows leakage in the toilet, replace it;
- dripping tap. One leaking tap, from which 30 drops per minute drips, wastes 311 liters per day. That’s 27 full baths a year;
- do not rinse the laundry under the tap, it is better to put some rinse water into the bathroom;
- When regulating the water for the bathroom, first block the drain, and then turn on the water. You can adjust the temperature while the bathroom is being filled;
- turn off the tap while shaving. It turns out – 380 liters per week;
- fill the bathtub to 50%. Savings per person: from 20 liters;
- use the dishwasher when it is fully loaded. Save up to 60 liters per person with each use;
- wash vegetables and fruits in a sink filled with water with the tap turned off. Save up to 10 liters of water a day;
- do not use water to defrost meat products. You can defrost them by leaving them in the refrigerator overnight or using the microwave;
- which “washer” is more cost-effective? Front-loading, of course. Front-loading machines require almost three times less water than their “vertical” counterparts;
- use the shortest program best suited to your clothing or underwear. For example, if a delicate wash lasts 40 minutes and cottons are washed for 60 minutes, wash the bed linen in the delicate mode.
