Save yourself from the blues: shades of autumn in decor elements

To avoid the autumn blues, it is not necessary to start a major overhaul or purchase new furniture. An interior design expert has put together a collection of simple and working solutions, which we will talk about today in the material.

The color palette

Closer to winter, the light outside the window becomes more and more dim. Penetrating inside the apartment, it mixes with the range of the interior and paints it in faded tones. Therefore, the easiest, but at the same time the most radical way to cope with the autumn blues is to repaint the walls. In other words, choose a more comfortable, soft, enveloping color that will uplift and warm. Fashionable shades today are dusty turquoise, copper, ocher and smoky gray, but you can not be limited only to them, but choose your favorite shade from another color range.

fragrant notes

While color sets the background, aromatherapy sets the tone for the mood. Aromas do not just affect us: they are able to control our condition. Some of them excite the mind, for example, coffee or cinnamon, others soothe, others warm. Refreshing citrus scents are preferred in the kitchen or living room, while delicate lavender scents are perfect for the bedroom. In the autumn-winter period, pay attention to the smells of chocolate, bergamot, orange, apple pie and lavender.

More light

Light is another important detail that affects our inner sense of harmony. A dark, unlit room will be uncomfortable even in summer, what can we say about autumn. With the right lighting, we are able to adjust the interior – for example, low walls can be visually enlarged due to floor light. It can also be used to influence your mood.

We add table lamps and floor lamps to where we often spend time: let an unusual lamp with a pot-bellied ceramic base meet us in the hallway, a floor lamp on a brass leg near the sofa, and next to the bed on the bedside table we put a lamp with a flickering glass base, which will be soft illuminate the head of the bed.

If you want more light, then you can place small sources of it throughout the apartment, which will turn on locally. Such lighting does not require additional difficult rearrangements and repairs in the room, however, it decorates the space and provides the necessary diffused light.

Pleasant textiles

The best option when planning a design is to immediately sew two sets of curtains and bedspreads for the spring-summer and autumn-winter periods. In October we get a cozy autumn set, we change the curtains, a set of linen for pillows and blankets. For the autumn version, it is better to choose more textured, tactilely pleasant fabrics – cashmere, wool or fabrics with boucle. We also prefer warm shades: it can be the same cinnamon, chocolate, plum. Choose what you would like to wrap yourself in. Comfort and joyful mood will be provided.

Candles

Nothing decorates and “relaxes” the interior more than a pair of candles, correctly selected for a particular space. The flickering of fire gives peace, smoothly plunging us into bliss and slightly slowing down time. Candles add local illumination, a subtle aroma sets an almost festive mood. You can arrange them by the bed, on a coffee table, on consoles and shelving, next to houseplants, in the bathroom or just on the floor. The main rule: consider the size and shape of the candles so that they match the area you are decorating.

We serve with taste

Let’s not forget about serving. Everything related to the table – plates, cups, tablecloths, napkins – should be decorated in warm colors. This will not only help to cheer up, but will immerse you and your guests in the entourage of a well-thought-out harmonious interior, which you will definitely want to return to. We choose textured surfaces, which, by the way, are very trendy now, or we vote for handmade ceramics. It has a special aesthetics and magnetism.

Silk, silk, silk

We spend 7-8 hours a day in bed, which is about a third of our lives. Accordingly, it is very important to think over the interior in this area. Start with linen, it should be pleasant to the touch. The most gentle option is silk, it soothes, pacifies, immerses in an atmosphere of serenity and romance. And it is also believed that a silk pillow smoothes the skin of the face during sleep, and a woman wakes up like a goddess.

Home comfort, warmth and beauty to you this winter!
