People do not like it when someone once — and suddenly decided to punish them. Why is that? For what? I disagree! If you people have agreed together on the rules and what will happen for the violation, after that the punishment is no longer perceived offensively, as a natural consequence of a common agreement. If someone is late for a general meeting, it is normal to agree that a certain amount will be paid from the latecomer, and then the one who knows about this condition and is still late is punishing himself. We do not punish him — he punishes himself, these are already natural social consequences, the same as if a child reaches for a hot frying pan, he will naturally burn himself.
Sanctions are measures of coercion: stipulated troubles that are not of a personal nature and solve only a behavioral problem. Namely, the task is to prevent unacceptable behavior, stop unacceptable behavior or compensate for the damage caused.
