The Korean brand of washing machines Samsung is one of the most famous brands. If you are thinking about buying a washing machine from Samsung, you will find an extensive range of products. Which model to choose, what to look for?
In the article, we will consider the meaning of Samsung washing machine marking, why it is needed and what benefits can be taken from it.
What does the marking on a Samsung typewriter mean?
CMA encoding hides the main parameters of the machine. Knowing the meaning of the serial number, you can understand where and in what year the equipment was manufactured. Let’s analyze it using the example of the WF602 model.
- The first English letter W indicates the type of household appliances – a washing machine.
- The decoding of the letter F sounds like “front” – the frontal type of loading of laundry.
- The number 60 means the capacity of the drum. In this case, you will be able to load 6 kg. If the number was 50, this meant that the load was designed for 5 kg; 59 – 5,9 (almost 6 kg). After 9 kg fractional numbers end. Therefore, if you see the number 12, this means a load of 12 kg.
- What does number 2 mean? This is the year the model first appeared on the market (not the year of release). 2 = 2012.
- Symbols under the designation “Letter 1” (see table above). W – without Digital Inverter Motor and with Eco Bubble. That is, the machine is equipped with a conventional commutator motor with a drive belt. The Eco Bubble value is an additional option that allows you to better wash your laundry due to the formation of air bubbles during washing. Next comes the letter B – model with Digital Inverter Motor, but without Eco Bubble. This washer is equipped with an inverter direct drive motor. The motor is attached directly to the drum, there is no belt. It is a reliable, powerful and silent engine. In this case, there is no bubble effect. U – Digital Inverter Motor and Eco Bubble. This model combines both bubble function and inverter motor.
- The following numbers 0/2 indicate the spin power. So 0 is 1000 revolutions, 2 is 1200 revolutions. If the number 8 were indicated, it would mean 800 rpm.
- The symbols under the third letter indicate the type of control panel: С – has a LED display and includes 10 basic washing programs. A type К – This is a panel that has 14 main programs plus additional ones. For example, self-cleaning of the drum, as well as the ability to install your own program via your smartphone.
- Letters #4 and #5. The symbols indicate the color of the hull and loading door. So WQ means that the body color is white and the doors are chrome. Letters SD they suggest that the body of the washer is gray, and the hatch door is chrome-plated.
Not always the marking “Samsung” is just that. Sometimes you need to look at the inscriptions on the control panel.
Look at the photo below. Eco Bubble is underlined at the bottom with a red line. This means that this model belongs to type W, as we indicated above. That is, there is an option with a bubble effect, but there is no inverter motor.
The next designation in the picture below is the Digital Inverter Motor. What classifies the machine as type B is that there is a built-in direct drive motor, but there is no bubble effect. A feature of this model is the “Diamond” drum. Its pyramidal surface has fine honeycombs, so your laundry will be handled delicately without being damaged.
Now there are two red lines on the Samsung panel. This is U type which includes both Eco Bubble and inverter motor.
The CMA panel in the photo below is type C. This is a dot LED display and 10 washing modes inclusive.
This is how the Samsung panel of type K looks like (pictured below). Graphic display. The selector allows you to select 14 programs. You can set different options by pressing additional buttons.
There are other designations. The serial number of the washing machine is indicated on the sticker. It is located on the SMA body, in front or behind. Consider the following example.
Samsung WW80J5410GW/LP
- The first two letters WW, as always, indicate that this is a washing machine and not other household appliances.
- If the first W is followed by D, this means that the washer is equipped with a dryer.
- The next number 80 indicates the maximum wash load of 8 kg. At the same time, 90 -9 kg, and 112 – 11,2 kg.
- How to decipher the J character? This is the year of development of this SM model – 2015. If there was a letter H, then the year would be 2014.
- The number 5 following is the series of the washing machine. For example, series 5 includes 7 programs, while series 8 has 15 programs.
- The number 4, further on the marking, means a spin speed of 1400.
- The number 10 indicates the design of a particular model.
- The penultimate characters GW are the color of the body and the hatch door of the washer.
- The last combination of LP is the place of production of the model – the CIS. If EU is in this place, then the car was made in Europe.
The coding of the equipment may differ, so when choosing, open the Samsung model passport, where the exact designations are indicated.
