Samsung washing machine gives error 6E – what to do?

Error 6E (Eb, bE, bC) indicates problems in the electronics of the Samsung washing machine. The codes differ depending on the date of manufacture of the equipment.

We will tell you what to do when the symbol 6e is on the screen of the machine, how to fix the problem without calling the wizard, and in what cases you will have to resort to professional advice.

Error codes in old and new cars

Until 2007, Samsung washing machines used the designation Eb, although it is more correct to read the code as bE. In devices without an electronic display, the problem is indicated by the backlight of the cold water temperature indicators, 40 and 60 degrees at the same time.

A complete list of symbols, the analogue of which is error 6 e in a washing machine:

  • bE with additional digits (bE1, bE2, bE3);
  • sometimes the order of the letters is changed – to Eb;
  • some models use bC (or bC2) coding.

Reasons for failures

Error 6e signals difficulties with starting equipment. There are three common reasons why the washer shows an BE error:

  • the triac switch is out of order;
  • there are problems with the control buttons themselves;
  • A failure occurred in the electronic controller of the Samsung washing machine.

Before repair, try to clarify in which particular unit of the device the malfunction occurred. It is easier for owners of washing machines with a three-character screen to solve this problem:

  • the sign bE1 indicates a problem with the power supply button;
  • bE2 (b2 or bc2) draws attention to problems with other keys of the typewriter;
  • if bE3 is on, there is a problem with the control unit.

Let us consider in more detail what the appearance of one of the above fault codes means and whether it is possible to solve the problem on our own.

We solve problems without calling the wizard

BE on the display can be displayed at any stage of the operation of the washing machine – both at the start of washing and just before the end of the process.

When codes of this group appear, it is rarely possible to remove the error on your own.

The reason is a software failure.

Samsung washing machines are equipped with many sensors, each of which can fail. To reset the errors, it is enough to restart the electronics by turning off the equipment from the network for a few minutes and turning it on again.

Outlet socket malfunctions

Power outages can drive Samsung’s fine electronics crazy. This happens if the contact of the plug with the outlet is not tight enough or the household network is overloaded.

To eliminate the error, you need to tidy up the electrician, which means replacing the socket, plug of the washing machine or repairing the wiring.

Buttons do not work

If the machine gives an error 6E, there is a possibility of insufficient contact of the buttons or their sticking after pressing.

Try holding the key down for about a minute or pressing it several times. It also helps to loosen the fasteners of the front panel of the washing machine.

When You Need a Master

If it was not possible to cope with the problem on your own, the technique shows the same error on the display – the table will help you figure out what this behavior means.

MalfunctionPossible reasonsWhat to do

6E (bC) was displayed after the program started. The washer spins the drum like it is spinning.

The equipment starts in normal mode, but it can’t cope with the release – it freezes.

The closure of the contacts led to the breakdown of the triac.It is necessary to replace the block, possibly together with diodes and relays.
The CMA drum spins to its limit, then Eb appears on the scoreboard.The Hall sensor is broken, resulting in a failure of the control triac.It is necessary to diagnose the tachogenerator. With insufficient contact, the fasteners are improved, the burnt part is replaced.
The washing machine does not start, after a couple of minutes the indicator 6E or similar lights up.The motor relay is damaged (after poor-quality repair, as a result of contact oxidation or in another way).Soldering removes problems with problems with the legs or relay contacts. The burnt part must be replaced.
6E flashes intermittently.Insufficient contact between the wires (they are worn out or frayed).To restore the operation of the machine, the contacts are checked, cleaned and reconnected. In difficult cases, the entire cable needs to be replaced.
