Salmon is one of the most popular types of fish. It is easy to prepare and also rich in flavor. Salmon steak can be fried, baked, served with various side dishes and sauces. It will suit both a festive and an everyday table.

This is one of the simplest recipes for how to cook delicious salmon. The absence of unnecessary components will only benefit the dish, emphasizing the specificity of this type of fish.

You will need: – 2 salmon steaks; – 4 lettuce leaves (iceberg or oaky); – 1 lemon; – 4 tablespoons. mayonnaise; – 2-3 pickled gherkins; – 1 tbsp. capers; – a sprig of dill; – salt and freshly ground black pepper.

Rinse the salmon steaks in running water. Cut the lemon in half and squeeze the juice out of the half. Place the steaks in a microwave-safe dish that does not need to be oiled. Pour the lemon juice over the fish and season with salt and pepper on both sides. Microwave the steaks, covered, for 6 minutes at maximum setting.

At the same time, start preparing the tartar sauce. Put the mayonnaise in a small container. Chop gherkins and capers and dill into small pieces. Mix all this with mayonnaise. Rinse the lettuce leaves, pat dry with a paper towel. Place 2 lettuce leaves on a plate, top with the finished salmon steak. Cut the remaining half of the lemon into slices and add to the dish as well. Serve the salmon with a gravy boat and drizzle over the tartar sauce just before serving.

Salmon steak can also be served with an additional side dish of fried potato slices or boiled wild rice
