Salads with chicken and Chinese cabbage. Video recipe

Chicken salads can be seen both on the everyday and on the festive table. Poultry meat goes well with other products, which opens up a lot of room for imagination. Recently, salads with chicken and Peking cabbage have become popular, giving the dish a springy flavor despite the year-round availability.

Chicken and Peking Cabbage Salads

For a delicate salad you will need: – chicken fillet – 300 g – Peking (Chinese) cabbage – 6-7 leaves – hard cheese – 150-200 g – juice of half a lemon – salt, black pepper, mayonnaise to taste

This chicken salad is easy to prepare and tastes good. It is especially good after the holidays, when the body is tired of heavy fatty foods. To start, boil the chicken fillet for about 30-40 minutes in a little water, if you are not going to use the broth in the future. Be sure to add salt to the meat during the cooking process to make it taste brighter. Cool the fillet and cut into small pieces. To make the salad even more tender, you can separate the meat into fibers by hand, but this will take more time.

While the fillet is cooking, you can do other products. Grate hard cheese on a coarse grater. To make it easier, the surface of the grater can be pre-lubricated with vegetable oil. Wash the Chinese cabbage leaves thoroughly and cut into narrow strips or, if the cabbage is young, finely chop it with your hands.

For dressing, combine mayonnaise, spices, and lemon juice in a separate cup. You can add some grains or other mild mustard to add a spice to the salad. Combine chicken, cheese and cabbage in a salad bowl, pour over the resulting dressing and mix gently. Leave the salad to soak for a while.

You can also use smoked chicken in the salad. It will give an unusual aroma and make the dish more elegant.

– Canned corn – crackers – fresh tomatoes – fresh or pickled cucumbers – bell peppers – canned pineapple – apple

You can safely make changes to your chicken and Chinese cabbage salad to your liking. If you add homemade or purchased white bread croutons to it, it will look like the fashionable “Caesar”, only in a more budgetary version. Combine salad with sweet corn for a fresh, full-bodied flavor.

Fresh cucumbers, tomatoes, and bell peppers are good in summer, when they have the highest amount of vitamins. Well, a diced apple or pickled cucumber will perfectly complement a salad in winter, when you really want something sweet or salty. Canned pineapple will add exotic notes to the dish and will certainly attract the attention of guests on the festive table.

Use natural yogurt instead of mayonnaise to reduce the calorie content of your salad.

For those who do not count calories, we can advise you to use meat from other parts of the chicken, not fillets. So the salad will become not only richer, but also a little cheaper. Use seasonal products. Chicken and Chinese cabbage are sold in stores all year round, but fresh vegetables are best added in summer.

Do not spare your favorite greens for decorating a salad: even a small sprig of parsley will make it much more appetizing. Experiment: add olives, olives to the dish, try replacing regular cheese with sausage. Sprinkle the salad with chopped walnuts or seeds, and your family will certainly say “thank you.”
